5.0 out of 5 stars FORGET SEPULTURA... THIS IS THE BEST LATINOAMERICAN BAND, March 26, 1999

Como pocas agrupaciones latinas, este power-trío argentino tiene muy bien definida su línea y su propuesta; y ahora que han contado con la ayuda de su gurú Max Cavalera (ex Sepultura y hoy con Soulfly), el sonido de éste su cuarto álbum se antoja demoledor. Las guitarras de Andrés Giménez rugen de principio a fin, mientras el bajo de Marcelo Corvalán se erige como una arma nuclear que retumba con gran convicción. "Milagro", "Latinoamérica" y "Loco Pro" son el botón de muestra. Asimismo, este trabajo puede considerarse de colección por la gran cantidad de "amigos" que lograron reunir los argentinos en torno a ellos, empezando por el bajista de Fear Factory (Christian Olde W.) quien se luce tocando el contrabajo en "Loco Pro"; igualmente hay que destacar la participación del nómada de los tambores, Jimmy de Grasso (ex Lita Ford, Y&T, Suicidal Tendences, etc. y hoy en Megadeth), quien colaboró en todos los cortes del álbum, hay que recordar que el baterista Martín Carrizo abandonó al grupo antes de comenzar la grabación de este álbum. Asimismo, los amantes de las curiosidades encontrarán motivos de satisfacción al encontrar que "A.N.I.M.A.L." rinde tributo a sus maestros Body Count, The Ramones y León Gieco, con sendas versiones de "Asesino de Policías", "Fuerza para Aguantar" y "Cinco Siglos Igual", respectivamente. Como pueden ver, estamos ante un trabajo que no tiene pero, hay letras poderosas y propositivas, la música es machacante, constante y bastante cohesiva; la producción es digna de los mejores grupos sajones y, lo mejor de todo, aquí está el trabajo mejor logrado hasta la fecha de una banda que sin duda alguna reclamará, con todo el derecho del mundo, el trono que alguna vez ostentaron los brasileños de "Sepultura". Como quien dice: Abróchense los cinturones!

I first came into contact with ANIMAL when my russian/costarican friend played the song LOCO PRO for me. I was impressed, and went to buy the album, only to find none of the other songs are like LOCO PRO. I read around and it turns out the song LOCO PRO is a mockery of an average rap song, but becuase I can`t understand any spanish I naively assumed that it was genuine music and not a parody. Oops. The album is quite good though, no wait, the album is very good, but it`s not my style at all, (Relentless hardrock makes me edgy, I`m more of a beatnick) but if you like metallica (old metallica) you will love this band because I can objectively say these guys are the best hardcore rock band out there. If your like me and think rock means The Beatles then you`ll be able to apreciate this, but I don`t know if you`d enjoy it.

Los temas son polenta pura. Las letras son de lo mejor. Uno de los mejores discos que he escuchado en mi vida. "Gracias doy" a los pibes de animal por hacernos la vida mas llevadera. Aguante Animal.
