5.0 out of 5 stars 5 MILLION STARS......, July 9, 2005
By T. Hardin (seaside, oregon) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
this,i believe, was their last studio album & what an album!i cant believe no one has reviewed this so here i go....
the production(never a strong point for this band)is actually pretty decent!that only helps the proceedings with the usual Vitus dose of slow, plodding doomy goodness.
i must mention this album re-introduces the vocal stylings of one Scott Reagers,& he never sounded better!nothing against Wino(whom is a doom god),but in my opinion Scott fits Vitus like no other.
in summary, this is out of print & quite hard to locate, but well worth the effort and collector's-market price

5.0 out of 5 stars the best, December 24, 2005
i know it goes against popular opinion, but i think this is the best saint vitus album ever.scott reagers is so underrated,he's up there with the greats like dickinson and halford, really any vocalist that just blows your mind.and daves guitar is menacing and very metal.more iommi ,less blue cheer or black flag, but still retaining those freakout solo's he's famous for.all my friends dig this album to,whereas when i play born too late or mournful cries, they say "what the hell is this???".really this is the only album that puts them in the same league as Trouble,Witchfinder General, and Cathedral.maybe if Wino had been given more oportunity with songwriting and at least 50 percent playing time with Dave, things might have been different, but as is, i like this the best.
