There's a new girl in town, or like three of them. And together they make up a head-turning trio from B-Rite Music, Trin-i-tee 5:7. These ladies take their name from 1 John 5:7 and march boldly down the trail blazed by talented female artists like Out of Eden, Toni Braxton and Brandy. As such, the self-titled debut album from Trin-i-tee 5:7 is an R&B/hip-hop treat.

The immediate attention-grabber here is the brief a cappella opener, "I Won't Turn Back." Imagine what Take 6 might sound like if they were women, and you've got an idea of what this tune delivers. The funky "You Can Always Call His Name" is also hard to miss. Mixing rap with a silky-smooth R&B melody, this tune quotes Scripture and encourages listeners to call on Jesus for every need. In a tribute to history, Trin-i-tee 5:7 also includes a soulful, blues-style remake of the African-American spiritual "Oh Mary, Don't You Weep." The result is a tribute to the talent of the artists, as their vocal harmonies glide effortlessly over the musically spare background arrangement. Other cuts worth mentioning are the Kirk Franklin-penned ballad, "God's Blessing," and Percy Bady's worshipful "With All My Heart."

If there is a weakness on this album, it's only in the multitude of producers (a talented line-up of eight) who had their fingers in the mix. For now, however, don't hesitate to welcome this new offering from Trin-i-tee 5:7 into your CD library. -- Mike Nappa (c) 1998 CCM Communications, Inc.

I am about to purchase this CD. The track of God's Grace is receiving airplay on my local station. This song brings the spirit into my heart and bring tears to my eyes. It is the same message your mom and grandmother gives you-What ever ails your soul, get on your hands and knees and talk it over with the Father.

I love this cd! because this group is true blessing.All songs are good especially song God's Grace which was produced by R.Kelly.So buy this cd! GOD BLESS.

I HAD THE PLEASURE OF SEEING THEM AT A PRAISE FEST IN MALTIMORE,AND THE SISTERS ARE A BLESSING. THEY HAVE VERY STRONG VOCALS AND ARE TRUE TO THEIR FAITH. I AM A 40 YEAR OLD MOM AND I HAD THE PLEASURE OF INTRODUCING THEM TO MY TWO OLDER CHILDREN 23 AND 20. THEY HAVE BROUGHT THE STIGMA OUT OF GOSPEL THAT CHRISTIANS ARE OLD ACTING AND DRESSING AS WELL.I ENJOYED THEM THAT I HAD TO PURCHASED THE CD AND IT BLESSED MY SOUL AND CONTINUES TO DO SO,UNTIL THIS DAY. YOU GO GIRLS!!!!! MY KIDS WERE BLOWN AWAY.
