Unlike their name, Fuck work subtly. They're not afraid to make some quiet to offend those looking for a boisterous middle finger in the air. Label mates Pavement have been the obvious comparison--and an apt one, too--since Fuck's "songs" come together and subsequently fall apart in the same toppled-domino fashion--the band, it seems, is only a balancing act doomed to lose in the end. The quiet moments remain their strongest ("Get Over Him," "Stumble In"), but the goofy joy apparent in the cheesy keyboards of "Monkey Doll" and the atonal rabble rousing of "Alice, All I Want Is Alice," which lasts all of 27 seconds, make
Conduct feel more like a radio station programmed by an inspired, demented host.

These songs endear themselves to the listener like a pretty stranger's smile.
