Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
The constant repetition of the Teletubbies (what makes them so special to preschoolers) doesn't necessarily lend itself to good music (well, perhaps blues is about repetition, but as we all know, none of the Teletubbies are blue). Luckily, this disc--the Teletubbies' first domestic album--is still a sweet, fun record for young kids. Sure, it can be an odd blend at times: the dance tracks ("Puddle Dance," "Twisty Dance," "Running Away Dance," "Up and Down Dance") all follow the same electronic calliope formula--light waltzes of synth-treated bells, drums, and keyboards. "Tree" is an oddity, a New Age-for-toddlers number, but it's quickly followed by the Tubby opening anthem: the always pleasing "Teletubbies Say 'Eh-oh!'" Truth be told: "Dirty Knees" is the only track that will drive parents nuts: the narrator's one-track mind begins to sound like a fetish (you start wondering what "dirty" refers to, anyway). By the time "Lullaby" closes the disc out, you'll be ready for a rest, but your children will be begging for more. Extra points for great stereo action, with the Teletubbies' voices bouncing from channel to channel. Give your kids the headphones, and you'll both be all the happier! --Jason Verlinde

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a great video alternative. Lively & entertaining!, November 13, 1999
By Rochelle Stone (Los Angeles, California) - See all my reviews
When my 2 year old received this CD on her birthday, we could not get it out of the CD player. It kept her entertained for hours and made her wonder how she could hear it and not see it. I absolutely recommend this CD to compliment any videos you may already have. It's great. By the way, the adults love it too!

4.0 out of 5 stars Eh-Oh!, May 1, 1999
By A Customer
Pathetically, I am a 58-year-old Teletubby fan (Dipsy, in fact, shares my bedroom but let's say no more of that), and bought this album just for a lark. More listenable than you'd think, and the show's opening sequence translates to C.D. with dynamite. The same melody line is used for almost everything in the show in different ways but this album is like a splash of refreshing lemonade on a sullen day. Oooo, now I'm hungry. Think I'll rustle up some Tubby Toast and some Tubby Custard.

5.0 out of 5 stars May all adult Teletubbies fans unite! This is a winner!, November 19, 1998
By A Customer
I know that there will soon be an article in Psychology Today on adults who are into Teletubbies. If you are one of us then you must have this CD. It really does make you do a "happy dance". Put it on in the morning while you are getting ready for work and your day will be just wonderful! If you are not aware of Teletubbies then purchase this CD and/or watch the show on PBS only if you want to smile or lift yourself from a "bad mood".
