5.0 out of 5 stars Great soundtrack However, December 25, 2003
By Jimbo Jones (Las Vegas, NV) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have owned this soundtrack several times once on tape and twice on cd (well now 3 times). This is a great soundtrack that features 10 songs but when I saw the credits at the end of the film there were 17 songs so there are 7 songs missing from this soundtrack lets take a look shall we

1.Eyes of the World Eric Martin playing when Doug and Chappy take the plane for some shooting exercises

2.Old enough to rock n roll Rainey Haynes played during the race between Doug and Notcher I think its a woman singing this song and not a man one of the best songs in the movie and it isn't on the soundtrack dam

3.Reggie's Theme not such who performed this I think it was used in the movie at the dance when Reggie and his date were doing those funky moves :)

4.There was a time James Brown played during the scene Chappy hits the jukebox (the way the Fonz does in Happy Days) and starts planning the rescue with Doug

5.Gimmie some Lovin Spencer Davis group played after Chappy goes down and Doug declares "This one's for you Chappy"

6.We're not gonna take it Twisted Sister played during the scene(s) were the kids gather all the info Doug needs for his "mission"

7.Proud Mary Ike and Tina Turner played when all the kids are at Chappy's thats all I remember about that song.

Another thing Where the hell is Basil Poledouris fantastic score I have heard it was released on a crappy bootleg boo!

Here is what the record company should/NEEDS to do since its just about the 20th anniversary of the film I would like to see a remastered fully restored soundtrack with ALL 17 songs amd that great score from Basil Pooledouris This could be a 2 or 3 cd set.

My guess as to why the missing songs were not included maybe because the company couldn't get the rights for the songs or perhaps couldn't settle on agreements for royalties to be paid to each performer/songwriter(s). I hope that they do re-release this complete and with score soon. **UPDATE 2/3/06 I just received my copy of Rainey's song Old enough to rock and roll and it rocks (runs nearly 6 full minutes 5:53) [...]**

UPDATE 10/8/09 My quest for the score has ended I finally purchased it through "V.S." (there is a listing on amazon for the score) I am most impressed with the release and the notes are quite extensive. I am currently up to track 8 and can't believe how good it is. now all I want is a dvd in widescreen and a expanded edition of the soundtrack with all the music used in the film. I didn't realize Basil Poledouris passed in 2006 well Basil this one's for you finally after 20+ yrs the score is finally here.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, but lacking two of the best songs on the movie., September 24, 1999
This movie has to be one of the all time great guy movies. The soundtrack is just fine for 80's fans like myself. I was dissapointed however that the two best songs in the movie, in my opinion, weren't on here though. The song "Old enough to rock and roll" by Rainey Haynes at the beginning when Doug was racing that guy on the motorcycle and "Eyes of the World" when Doug and Chappy were in the F-16 trainer were the ultimate "race hype" songs. It took awhile to find "Eyes of the World", now if only i could find "Old enough to rock and roll" i could complete the Iron Eagle soundtrack. Iron Eagle fans, email me if you have this song.
