5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Ennio Morricone interpretations., July 9, 1999
By W M R (Österreich) - See all my reviews
I'm familiar with this recording for over 20 years now, since it first came out on LP. Mireille Mathieu uses her voice expressively like an instrument and the orchestral instrumentation is very subtle. It is not important to understand the French and Italian lyrics, because they are not particularly good, but the sound of these languages compliment Morricone's music perfectly. I'm thrilled to have found this CD at Amazon.com because my LP is very scratched already and I have been looking for years for a CD copy of this recording.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful instrumentals with one of the best in the world!, February 14, 2001
By BigJockJoe (Michigan, USA) - See all my reviews
Mireille Mathieu has really outdone herself on this CD. Her beautiful voice is richly challenged in this assort- ment of unusually haunting melodies by Ennio Morricone. I especially liked the instrumentals in Da quel Sorriso che non ride piu. This CD is excellent because it highlights Mireilles tremendous voice range and passion!

By sam (samialam@hotmail.com) - See all my reviews
Mireille Mathieu has one of the most beautiful and powerful voices ever. She is a genuine French singer who sings with great strength & Passion. Here on this album, Mathieu sings songs written by the unique Ennio Morricone, the songs are filled with haunting emotion, each track is very interesting and holds special meaning. Listen to it! IT's truly a work of art...
