Best of all the Spice Girls' songs!, October 12, 2000
Well what can I say? When my mother saw me buy this one, she said to me, "Good, now, they don't look like over-decorated and crazy women!". Yah, it's true, it's because they've changed their image a bit because it's not appropriate anymore, for they are women now, not teenagers. It shows that they've matured, through all their experiences, mistakes and triumphs. The song "Goodbye" will really make you cry, if you really listen to it and take it deep inside and it's their 3rd straight UK Christmas No.1. Anyways, they haven't put the track listings yet so here's what I've got here. The one I have here is the Goodbye (EP) which contains 5 tracks taken from both the UK CD1 and CD2 of the single and I think, aren't just available as the other versions of the single.1.) Goodbye (Single Edit/Version) --- you'd better listen to this than to other Anti-Spice Girls and people who hate them very much. 2.) Christmas Wrapping --- the perfect Christmas troubles and "goodnesses" are on the lyrics. It's hilarious and entertaining! 3.) Sisters (Are Doing It For Themselves) --- this was taken from the Wembley Concert. A great Girl Power theme song! 4.) We Are Family --- a remake of the great classic also taken from the Wembley Gig. 5.) Goodbye (Orchestral Version) --- this is just as good as the original one, although a bit more emotional and touching. 6.) Goodbye (Video) - Interactive Element --- the best part of this CD. The video makes you chill, and it will warm you up with the lyrics. The Spice Girls will always stay here, no matter what! I hate it when somebody criticizes them of what they do. Just remember to buy it whenever you can and I'll prove that you won't ever cry over your money. It's really worth it!

Such a sad end to such a short-lived career, November 25, 2003
Me being a casual fan of the Spice Girls is definitely a guilty pleasure (a fact I usually keep hidden in the closet) but I'm not completely ashamed of my enjoying some of their music. This group of 5 independent girls who originated in England brought out some really infectious pop songs in the mid-90s that were fun and catchy. They literally took the world by storm and people couldn't help but love their vivacious energy. Sure they weren't equipped with the greatest vocal abilities but they never claimed to have such talent. They were just living their dreams and, in the process, happened to conquer the hearts of millions. They were the biggest thing since The Beatles, but it only lasted for about 2 years before it was quickly over. During their sold-out U.S. tour, Geri Halliwell decided to call it quits on the eve of their success, resulting in their ultimate downfall. After a several year break, the girls were ready to continue without the fifth member of the group and ironically enough they released what would become their last single, aptly titled "Goodbye", which I consider to be their most mature. I actually felt that they were better off without Geri but the hype had died to cinders by then and the inevitable end was close at hand. They all moved on to pursue solo careers (most of which bombed, btw) and the Spice Girls are most likely gone forever but I still enjoy listening to songs such as "Viva Forever" and "2 Become 1" when the urge arises. I'm not crazy over the two live tracks, "Sister's Are Doin' It For Themselves" (a theme song for girl power) and "We Are Family", but I do like "Christmas Wrapping" - a clever, high-spirited song for the season.

"Goodbye" is their best ever song, February 5, 2001
"Goodbye" is definately the better of all Spice Girls songs. It shows how far they have come from their beginnings...they are now sounding much more mature. I have to admit though, that I do enjoy some of their songs, but this song is a definate turning point, hopefully in the right direction. "Christmas Wrapping" is a fun Christmas song, and the two live tracks, "Sisters are doin' it for themselves" and "We are family" were recorded Sept 1998 at Wembley Stadium, London. A must for all Spice-a-holics!
