5.0 out of 5 stars Great album!, February 24, 2000
By A Customer
My boyfriend is Dutch and has this CD, and when I went to visit him in December 1998, I fell in love with it. When my friend's brother went to the Netherlands, I made him bring a copy back for me. She's got another album out there, it's a live recording titled "Dear John." I'm planning a trip back to Holland in May, so I'll pick it up then. I'd recommend this album to anyone who enjoys the likes of Shania Twain or Faith Hill, even if they aren't necessarily a fan of country music in general (like me!).

5.0 out of 5 stars She's a great artist, December 12, 1999
By "dbhatcher" (San Francisco) - See all my reviews
Most Americans must be amazed -- where did this Dutch girl learn to sing like that? Who cares ... she can. She's got a great set of pipes and puts some pretty hefty emotion behind them. Was in Amsterdam when I found out about her. Bought the CD there and have been waiting for more ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Country; Excellent Music..., June 19, 1999
By A Customer
I'm not the Country music type, but when I was in the Netherlands during an extended business visit, I overheard "World of Hurt" being played on a Dutch local radio station that was fed to the factory's P.A system.

I asked one of the technicians in the factory who the artist was and he proudly told me about Ilse DeLange. I was then lucky enough to see her play on the Dutch music television TV station TMF: the Music Factory.

That led to me buying what I feel is my most satisifying album of 1999 so far. She's an excellent vocalist, with a competent backing band.

I hope that her debut album isn't her last. If it is then I will be in a "World of Hurt".

Truely brillant music.
