Editorial Reviews

Tom Kidd, Music Connection, March 2-15, 1998
"The music of St. Surreal is comprised of intelligence that is smart enough to know not to draw attention to itself. This is progressive music without pretension, which many of us didn't think was possible. An excellent offering."Tom Kidd, Music Connection, March 2-15, 1998

Product Description
Progressive, alternative, pop. Been described as "literary rock" with crisp, sarcastic, intelligent lyrics. Instrumentation that climbs ascendant pop melodies with harmonies and layers of "decidedly British elements". Spanish single "Temptation" and english/spanish single "Halo Man" and instrumental "Idylwylde" exemplify the variety of this group in product and person.

5.0 out of 5 stars Literate, engaging, entertaining, and fresh., March 18, 1999
I had a chance to see these guys in L.A. at the "Viper Room", that obtuse hole in wall spot in West Holloweird where they do wallet biopsies and check your resume before you can get in. enough of that. the night started with a very cool video followed by a one hour set that brought the room to its collective feet. these guys perform with a special synergistic verve -- the crowd was engaged; I was enthralled; went to Tower Records across the street and bought 6 CDs to send to friends. This was a 'new group in town' for the Viper; but destined to be like Springsteen at the Roxy some 20+ years prior. This was the performance that would make them the new cult band in town. Should spread like wildfire into the hinterlands. Glad I was there. Check this out. You'll see.

SAMPLE THIS CD!!!! It's worthy of your attention in a market glutted with mediocrity.

I have listened to the CD, which I picked up at a show, hundreds of times; and, I still find it full of surprises, melodic and entertaining--definitely a master work.

As president of Rude College Promotions, St. Surreal was one of ther most successful records we've promoted on college radio. This record is a great investment to the ears.

St. Surreal has a mix of classic guitar inspired by music I grew up on (80's rock and pop) coupled with unique lyrics and an edge to set them apart from the typical live bands... Read more

These tunes really grow on you. I didn't know what to expect, and was delighted. Great music, no trick, no gimmicks, just a treat for the ears, and for the soul. Uplifting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing lyrics - great music
The shear talent of these three band members really comes through. Their music is innovative, creative, great sound and will be around a long time.
