Editorial Review
It's a bit retro and takes a little patience, but the Pretty Petals Scented Flower Maker lets children create a sweet little bouquet of handmade plastic flowers. Dexterity and patience are the name of the game here. The creator is required to wrap wire around a mold, place it in the template, paint it, let it dry for about eight hours, and then peel. The scented stamens (which
do smell like flowers) are then added and twisted. Don't expect the final creation to resemble exactly what's depicted on the box, but it should be a close-enough facsimile, and there's a certain pride in making one's own creation. Included in the kit are petal and leaf molds, colored flower-molding material, scented flower stamens, stem wraps, plastic-coated wire, a flowerpot, sand, and instructions. With its floral bouquets, this kit is designed for young girls and is a fun project for friends to do together. Parents will probably want to supervise (or at least be available to help) the youngest kids.
