2.0 out of 5 stars Too Expensive, November 30, 1999
By A Customer
The Palm V Synch is great. It lets you copy all the data from your Palm to a desktop or laptop, but i find the price of this way too expensive. I want a cradle for my home and one for work, and considering that Palm V's go for about $250 now, i think it is ridiculous that the cradle itself is $50, whereas you can get ones for the Palm III for ~$20. Granted you can recharge the Palm V, i wish they would make a cradle only (no charging capabilities) for people who want to sync their palm in two different places.

3.0 out of 5 stars Why are we still making things that only work in the USA?, April 22, 2000
This is a fine device until you plug it into a 220v power supply somewhere outside the US. Obviously I didn't read the fine print on the plug before doing this but it is hard to imagine a company producing a product for people that travel that can't work all over the world. No problems with my laptop or cellphone (Toshiba & Nokia). They are global competitors.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for the V but bad if there are others Palms, July 15, 1999
By A Customer
I just bought a V only because I lost my old Palm and decided to upgrade. My wife has her old palm and it turns out older versions of the Palm are not compatible with the new cradle and vice-a-versa. So the 4 stars is due to this incompatibility. Otherwise it looks pretty, works fast and it is a pleasure to have the batteries recharging rather than worrying about replacing batteries.

Perhaps the only bummer with the Palm V series is that they have a slow serial port connection, which takes much longer to Sync than a USB port. Read more
