Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
On their third full-length project, the crazy Colombian-Dominican rappers from Queens, NY, have set out to murder wack emcees and bury all nonbelievers. The Beatnuts lash out with their self-produced, party-starting beats and signature braggadocio (and usually X-rated) rhymes to commit a Musical Massacre. The flute-filled "Watch Out Now" and "Turn It Out" (featuring Greg Nice) follow the same vein as their 1997 club hit "Off The Books." However, the album's most interesting moment showcases a matured version of the Beatnuts. "Look Around" with Dead Prez finds the duo in a reflective and analytical state, proving that serious or silly, Pscho Les and Ju Ju will always be musical assassins. --Celine Wong

5.0 out of 5 stars Will they ever stop?, December 16, 1999
Another great album from the Beatnuts, lots of great beats along with some real firme lyrics. Unlike alot of other albums with dry beats or kindergarten lyrics, this album is great from start to finish. It just goes to show that Latinos really can rap. Also the song 'Se Acabo' f/Magic Juan from Proyecto Uno, is off the hook. Hopefully this album will open the eyes of those who think rap is just a 'black' form of art.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, not Classic Beatnuts, November 20, 2005
1999 - 2000 had a strong rising from the underground groups. Mos Def had Ms Fat Booty, Cocoa Brovaz had Super Brooklyn, Pharoahe Monch had Simon Says, MOP had Ante Up (Robbin Hoodz Theory) Common had The Light, Gangstarr Full Clip, Reflection Eternal The Blast. Well, The Beatnuts had Watch Out Now. When I heard that, and saw the line up of guests on the album, Common, Dead Prez, Greg Nice, remember from the Nice and Smooth Days? I thought this was going to be another classic. Even though I was wrong, this album is still solid. A few week moments, but this is better than any of the crunk garbage that's out there, or at that time, the jiggy garbage. For classic Beatnuts, get Stone Crazy and Street Level. Both are hip hop at it's best. But I say, this is an album still worth your money. By the way, don't listen to any reviewer who tells you that Mase is a good artist. Mase makes Vanilla Ice look like Mos Def.
