There's no time to waste if you find yourself in one of the world's great cities, so this video presents a tour of Sydney, Australia, that packs the metropolis's distinctive sights, sounds, and tastes into only three fast-paced days. Hosted by actress Lauren Hutton and narrated by travel writer Mary Dilts, the video first provides a lively look at the history of Sydney, which had the most humble of beginnings as a British penal colony. The unusual mixture of European and aboriginal culture is highlighted several times, most notably in a visit to the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the city's world-class museum. Sydney's most recognizable icon, the famed Opera House facing Sydney Harbor, is the subject of a visit, as are lesser-known sights, such as a museum on the experience of the city's original inhabitants, British convicts. Suggestions abound for distinctive restaurants to visit during the three-day stay, and a number of unusual shops are also featured. Perhaps the most extraordinary attraction visited is the landmark steel bridge known as "the Old Coathanger," which can be climbed by tourists (once they pass a physical exam and don proper safety equipment). The travel itinerary is very professionally presented, and the video also benefits from some gorgeous footage of a truly beautiful city.
