"Fields' 'Kabala': ...numerous surprises...Much recommended!"
Product Description
After demonstration blasts upon the shofar, Andrew Glendening's trombone quartet launches into Call of the Shofar--a double fugue on themes from Jewish liturgy, punctuated by mock shofar calls. Libor Dudas plays the rapid harpsichord toccatta Summer Mischief, and then Pieter Blonk is heard playing the work Sh`mah upon the Albany City Hall Carillon. In Rooster's Court Ball, Michael Laderman plays a six-movement flute partita, each baroque dance whimsically attributed to a different animal. The Czech Chamber Players finish with Kabala, a daring work for clarinet, viola, and piano.
