Editorial Reviews

About the Artist
Eric Ostling has been composing and performing in the Northeast for over 15 years. His work has earned praise from such diverse musical figures as film composer Jamshied Sharifi (Harriet the Spy), jazz trumpeter Herb Pomeroy and bassist Rufus Reid, composer John Harbison and the Manhattan String Quartet. Soon to be available on CD is a suite of orchestral music based on 'The Little Prince', the heart-awakening modern-day fairy tale written by Antoine de Saint Exupery.

Product Description
Debut CD from this critically acclaimed pianist and composer. Inspired improvisations designed to pull the listener out of the hysteria of modern life and return them to a feeling of being 'home'. Expert listeners will recognize the style of this CD as the musical match of ECM artist Keith Jarrett and Windam Hill artist George Winston.

4.0 out of 5 stars "Home" Brings it Home, May 21, 2001
By Neil Marsh (East Cambridge, MA USA) - See all my reviews
Having had the pleasure of hearing Eric play live, I can say that "Home" easily captures the feelings I experienced at those performances. While every version of "Carousel" or "Mexican Jumping Beans" has been different, the performances on this CD are every bit as emotional and energetic as his live ones. I look forward to more from him!
