Biography

Brooklyn's genre-defying Oneida takes their primary cues from '60s garage and punk bands (especially MC5), but throw in plenty of heavy, bluesy '70s stoner rock (think Blue Cheer, Foghat, etc.), plus dashes of jerky synth pop, avant-garde jazz, and Krautrock. Originally featuring guitarist/vocalist Papa Crazy (aka PCRZ), keyboardist Bobby Matador (aka Fat Bobby), drummer Kid Millions, and… Read more in Amazon's Oneida Store

5.0 out of 5 stars I love rock, and this is rock, so I love it., June 1, 2000
By Hurlo Thrumbo (Brooklyn City New York America) - See all my reviews
Well, I pretty much said everything I had to say in my review title. I also love this Deep Purple album called "Who Do We Think We Are!" -- it rocks almost as much as this one, but not quite. Oneida is better than Deep Purple.

5.0 out of 5 stars not the enemy!, November 22, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Enemy Hogs (Audio CD)
the first four songs are a riot! this album is almost as good as "hey everybody lets rock"...oneida instills its songs with a rare emotion--fear. i dont mean that they try to scare you with iron maiden posters and stuff. the music itself is scary, but in a frantic not a spooky way. well done. i would comment on the individual songs but I couldnt read the liner notes very well. a caveat--if you dont like keyboards, you might not like this.

4.0 out of 5 stars a meaty snowball of rock, June 28, 2002
By TRAMPLER37 (Memphis, Tennessee United States) - See all my reviews
I just don't know what to think about Oneida. I think they really just want to make fun of all rock that came before. Here on Enemy Hogs they lampoon what could be southern rock and surround it with a screeching blanket of keyoards and a typhoon of mangled guitar that will clean out your system so you can pass that drug test the wrestling coach is making you take. I wouldnt pay too much heed to the words. But then again, with these guys, their next album could be spoken word!

This ia a good CD, it has lots of cool songs on it, it's kind of like the MC5 meets the year 2000 but on the way got higher education from a liberal arts college. Read more
