Sony's acclaimed Trinitron picture tube is based on a cylindrical model containing a screen face that is flat from top to bottom. Because of this, vertical lines remain straight and distortion is minimized. The Trinitron tube also significantly reduces glare by reflecting light toward the floor, rather than directly into the viewer's eyes where it can make the picture appear washed out.
This TV is also V-Chip enabled for parental control of children's viewing of inappropriate material.

The Sony KV-20S43 is a 20-inch color TV that has an MTS decoder for true stereo sound. It features a Trinitron picture tube with a fine-pitch Aperture Grill. Although this set doesn't have a comb filter, it displays 270 lines of resolution. This model includes a Dynamic Picture Processor that constantly adjusts brightness and contrast to present very pleasing pictures. Overall, image quality was very good. The KV-20S43 features twin bottom-mounted front-firing speakers rated at 3 watts per channel. Sound quality was better than average when compared to other sets in this category. This set features one A/V input and one variable audio output. Front A/V inputs are also included to attach a camcorder or video game console. A front-mounted headphone jack allows for private listening. Convenience features include a sleep timer and bilingual (English and Spanish) on-screen menus and displays. This model also includes parental control with the new V-Chip that will lock out specific programs based on TV ratings displayed at the beginning of each program.
