Biography

Feeder is a British rock band formed in 1992. The current members are Grant Nicholas, Taka Hirose and Mark Richardson who replaced the original drummer, Jon Lee after his suicide in 2002.

The band was formed when friends Nicholas and Lee recruited Hirose and moved to London to find a record deal. Their first release was the limited issue Two Colours EP (1995). In 1996 they released a second EP SwimRead more in Amazon's Feeder Store

5.0 out of 5 stars The complete album, August 8, 2002
'Yesterday went too soon' earns the rare title of 'complete album', a title which in my opinion only Radioheads 'The Bends' can also hold. The album has the perfect ratio of explosive rock songs to epic ballads. The title track YWTS is one of the most scintillating, haunting ballads ever written and reaches the heights of Polythene favourite 'High' and Radioheads ' fake plastic trees'. Yet these ballads are balanced with furious, guitar music with choruses so complusive that you can help but sing along, insomnia in particular is guilty of this.

What aids this albums collection of songs is the note-perfect voice of Grant Nicholas who shines through on every track and makes the difference between an average and an exceptional album.

Stand out tracks(nb they are all excellent)
Yesterday went too soon - an emotional epic of a song.
Insomnia - infectious punk that will keep you awake listening to it
So well - understated track but its melody is too good to be ignored.

I would strongly recommend this albu to anyone who likes band such as my vitriol, early radiohead and Ash. Basically this album is very much mature pop-punk with an added essence of indie. As you can see its hard to define.

5.0 out of 5 stars The complete album..., January 31, 2003
By Steve Garthwaite (Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England) - See all my reviews
I was never a huge Feeder fan until 'Buck Rogers' was released in January 2001, however, even after buying the single my interest soon wore off. But, after seeing them live supporting Stereophonics (my favourite band) in November 2001, I realised just how amazing they are! I imediately went out and bought as much of their back-catalogue as possible and haven't regretted it!

'Yesterday Went Too Soon' is one of the greatest indie rock albums of all time and has easily held that title since it's release back in August 1999. It's one of those true greats where you just don't want to skip any tracks, an accolade which I think only Oasis' 'Morning Glory' or Stereophonics' 'Performance and Cocktails' can equal. It's certainly a far cry from their good but very average punk rock debut 'Polythene'. The band seem to have changed direction and found their amazing ability to write outstanding indie tunes. Personally, I think the band released some weak tracks as singles but this album's overall standard is so high it hardly matters. My favourites are 'Insomnia', 'Radioman', 'Tinsel Town', 'Dry', 'So Well', 'Paperfaces' and the title track 'Yesterday Went Too Soon' which are all instant classics and well worthy of use of the repeat function on any CD player. The other tracks are not quite as perfect but when you listen to the album in full, they all have their own place. All in all, this is definitely worth having in anyone's collection.

Tracklisting:
1. Anaesthetic (6/10)
2. Insomnia (8/10)
3. Picture Of Perfect Youth (7/10)
4. Yesterday Went Too Soon (10/10)
5. Waiting For Changes (7/10)
6. Radioman (9/10)
7. Day In Day Out (7/10)
8. Tinsel Town (9/10)
9. You're My Evergreen (7/10)
10. Dry (9/10)
11. So Well (9/10)
12. Paperfaces (9/10)

5.0 out of 5 stars The best collection of songs you could ever hear!, January 16, 2002
By "spleenybaby" (Cleveland, OH, USA) - See all my reviews
YWTS is a mighty effort by Feeder who are and always will be my favorite band. This is an album that at the same time rocks with classic tracks such as 'Insomnia' and 'Waiting for Changes' and then draws attention to the contemplative thought with slow touching songs such as 'Yesterday Went Too Soon' and 'Tinsletown'. Feeder's music surrounds many styles and cannot be classed in just one genre. If you like Guitar music and have a heart for emotional acoustic numbers then Feeder are just your ticket. This album is quality and will not disappoint
