Technical Details

  • Excellent for framing
  • Expansion slots cut vibration
  • Anti-kickback
  • Thin kerf, flat tooth, long life
  • 7-1/4-inch 24-tooth, 5/8-inch & diamond arbor

Product Description

From the Manufacturer

This blade features expansion slots that are strategically placed to allow for blade-body expansion from centrifugal force and thermal expansion during actual use. Slots are used to prevent air turbulence and nearly eliminate vibration. Anti-kickback design takes the frustration out of many operations. Thin-kerf blade requires less energy to feed the material into the saw blade and eases the strain on your power tool. 7-1/4-inch, 24-tooth, framing blade, 5/8-inch with optional diamond arbor (pop out center-piece with screwdriver for diamond arbor).

Product Description

This blade cuts rough framing lumber, high quality finish lumber, plywood, OSB and hardboard siding with the smoothest, fastest, and most accurate cut. The Perma-SHIELD coating on these blades makes them resistant to friction and heat build-up. The thin kerf blade requires less cutting power from the user and the saw for better control over the cut. Heat-expansion slots help to prevent blade breakage by allowing it to expand during operation when friction-causing heat occurs Application: Ripping and Fast Crosscutting

5.0 out of 5 stars A Brutal Blade for Severe Jobs, April 1, 2009
I puchased a few of these blades before framing a four story hotel. Since I handle stair stringers and headers for the project, I needed something that could cut fast, true, and last. The thin kerf made for much faster cutting than normal framing blades. I was amazed at what a difference a 1/16th of an inch could do. The first cut sealed the deal for me and the good thing was it kept its razor sharp edge for weeks. The project lasted 12 weeks and I went through three of these bad-boys. If i was using regular blades i would have used at least six. I just returned to the site to build the canopy and pulled out my last blade and am still blown away by the speed and the quality of the cut. These blades a truley worth the extra few dollars because they last twice as long as other blades.

Absolutely the best blade I have used in my circular saw. Easily cut wet treated lumber. Not sure about how long the blade will do a good job, but so far this has been the best blade I have used. It was worth the extra money to have a blade that does the job.

1.0 out of 5 stars Freud blades, April 10, 2000
By A Customer
I am a building contractor for over 20 years, and I've been looking for a quality blade that does not burnout or warp so quickly. So I purchased a few of these Freud blades, and once again I have been let down. My company purchases over 30,000 blades a year, and we have yet to find a blade that gives us the durability, consistency and reliability that a 200 homes per year builder demands. The only blades that have come close is the Oldham blades, but they still need some fine tuning. Overall, builders need a smoother blade that does not heat up as fast. All saw blade manufacturers try to coat the sides of blades in some form or another. All the coatings fly right off within the first 2 minutes of cutting. Does anyone manufacture a smooth blade. If so please contact me. I will purchase volume (as I'm sure any contractor would do with such a product)
