Product Description

Amazon.com Review

While there are a number of rotary tools on the market made by a host of different manufacturers, the Dremel Moto-Tool is the one they all strive to copy. Dremel's MultiPro variable-speed model is great for a huge range of projects, from home improvement tasks to hobbies and crafting. It has a continuously adjustable speed range from 5,000 to 35,000 rpm, which allows the user to effectively work with materials as soft as balsa wood and as hard as ceramics. The flexible shaft that comes with this model is great for working in tight spots many rotary tools can't touch. The kit also comes with an assortment of accessories and a handy carrying case. Others may copy it, but Dremel has been making rotary tools so long they've come close to perfecting the idea. --Brian Trinen

5.0 out of 5 stars The best and most practical Dremel tool to own, January 2, 2000
This review is from: Dremel 3956-01 MultiPro Variable Speed Super Kit with Flexible Shaft (Tools & Hardware)
The variable speed Moto-Tool is the only way to fly for working with fired & unfired ceramics, precious and alloy metals, plastics, and wood. The speed adjustment ensures proper cutter control while not damaging the workpiece.

The flex shaft increases this tool's versatility ten fold! With it, you can work in areas that were obstructed for the Moto-Tool au natural.

The abundance of other accessories (router attachment, drill press, cutting accessories) makes this a tool that you can build a good economical workshop around.

You'll be surprised and amazed in just how often you will use it!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great Dremel rotary tool, June 26, 2000
This review is from: Dremel 3956-01 MultiPro Variable Speed Super Kit with Flexible Shaft (Tools & Hardware)
I was pleasantly surprised to find out it had a 5 year warranty instead of 2. Now instead of the 175+ Uses book, they (Dremel) have substitued a NEW "Tools for the Imagination", which is pretty handy and has some good illustrations and examples of how to do many projects and a list of what accessory to use. I am excited about all of the things I can do around the house and how much the Dremel will make things easier to do since I now have the right tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Handyman's Buddy, April 17, 2001
By bryghtbuild "contractorwannabe" (Charleston, WV United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dremel 3956-01 MultiPro Variable Speed Super Kit with Flexible Shaft (Tools & Hardware)
This tool is what I use to keep my other power tools in good shape. With its array of attachments, the Multi-Pro reaches into all the tight places to clean and sharpen fast and effectivly. It's also great for cutting jobs in close quarters where larger power tools won't fit, like under sinks, between rafters and floor joists, and inside walls. I especially like using it to cut off nails and screws flush in hard to reach places. I rely on the Multi-Pro quite a bit for the remodeling and small repair work that I do. I plan on buying the flexi-shaft attachement to make it even more versatile. For the best results, always remember to be patient with this tiny workmate and make several passes at the material you are cutting, a little at a time, rather than just one big push.
