5.0 out of 5 stars All Hallows deserves more than 5 stars!, March 12, 2004
AFI have officially become my favorite ACTUAL PUNK group, other than Misfits. All Hallows, the simply put masterpiece E.P., is possibly the greatest disc that Davey Havok and his group, have ever put out. Even despite the undenyable fact it only contains 4 songs.
All Hallows is a 4 track E.P. in which contains 3 new songs, and a Misfits cover. I shall now review them, 1 by 1.

1. "Fall Children"-This song I absolutely love! Its lyrics are simply great, with lyrics like "As the cries start to penitrate still air, this day we celebrate, the wait now ends!" who wouldn't love this song? It has a catchy chorus, "This day so hollowed!" and its guitar, drum, and bass work are just absolutely great, top notch. Overall rating for this song, 10/10

2. "Halloween"-I'll start off by saying, that I myself am a huge fan of the Misfits. So when listening to this song, I was very very openminded to see if they slandered or respected the group with their re-creation of it, and I loved it. This song is atleast just as good as the original Misfits version. I myself think that the lyrics themselves and the sound, are better than the Misfits version. The only problem I have with this song is the annoying major on-going extension of noise and sounds at the end of this song, which spans over 3 minutes. The original Misfits song is only about 2 minutes long, without noises. Why couldn't AFI just do that?! Overall rating for this song, 9/10.

3. "The Boy Who Destroyed the World"-This song is pretty good, it's quite a slow song, and its intro resembles the intro to "Who Knew" from the Black Sails E.P. While this is definantly not one of my favorite songs on the E.P. it's also not a bad song at all. I like it, it's also on the THPS-3 soundtrack and game. Overall rating for this song, 9/10.

4. "Totalimmortal"-This song is by far, the BEST of old AFI and something that most all AFI fans wish that they could re-create. To me, Totalimmortal shows the best of the E.P. with its lyrics, instrumentals, and all around song meaning. I wont spoil the meaning for anyone, so you'll all have to just interpret your own meaning to this song, but i'm pretty sure i've found the true meaning to it. Totalimmortal is one of the best AFI songs of all time, and for that, I call it the best song on this E.P. period! Overall rating for this song, 100/10. (Yes 100, this song is just THAT GOOD!)

Buyers of All Hallows will definantly not be dissappointed with AFI's sound in this spacific release. If they are just getting into AFI, I actually reccomend they buy AFI's newest release Sing the Sorrow, just to get a feel for what AFI may sound like in the future. But old school AFI fans..All Hallows is an ESSENTIAL that you MUST HAVE because by me, this has been dubbed their BEST disc EVER despite its lack of many tracks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Four Song EP, September 30, 2001
By Raldante McGillis (Laurel, Montana United States) - See all my reviews
All Hallows is one of the best EPs I've ever heard. It ranks up there with Radiohead's Airbag EP and their My Iron Lung EP.

All Hallows starts with Fall Children, it's slow creepy intro is perfect before the storm. The music box ending chills me every time I listen to it. Music Boxes and clowns are pretty much the only two things that scare me...Halloween is a Misfits cover and remains great along side the original. The Boy Who Destroyed The World is 3 minutes of great punk, but next is one of punk rocks finest moments ever in the song Total Immortal. Great bass, great lyrics (so poetic...) and great guitars. So much better than the bastardized version The Offspring did...

5.0 out of 5 stars TOO SHORT!!, November 7, 2003
By A Customer
This is the album that got me into AFI, I first bought "Shut your mouth and open your eyes" and I liked about half of it, other than that, it pretty much sounded like a lot of other "hardcore punk" bands, and I picked this one up to hear their version of "Halloween", and I loved the whole thing, this is without a doubt the best E.P. Ive ever heard, its only like 14 minutes long or something, witch makes me mad because its so good, I don't want it to end.
"Fall Children"-Awesome, the begining is so cool and the rest of the song has so much energy, one of the best AFI songs.
"Halloween"- How could you not already like this song? they do a great version of it, but nothing beats the original.
"The Boy who destroyed the world"- I remember hearing this on Tony Hawk 3, but I didn't pay to much attention to it, I love this song, very cool.
"totalimmortal"-I remember hearing "offsprings" version of this song a few years ago, and I didn't like it at all, (nothing against offspring, I just didn't care for it), but the real version is awesome.
This CD rocks.
