4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Track List, October 16, 2004
The import version of Bananrama's Greatest Hits is slightly different than the original U.S. release. This version has a few extra tracks and doesn't include the cover of the Beatles song "Help." Banarama's Greatest Hits covers most of their popular singles from the first 10 years of their career. I would have liked to see less popular songs like "More Than Physical" make the track list but maybe one day their will be a Bananarama box set or something. But this set is awesome because it includes on of my favorite Bananarama songs "Rough Justice." The set opens with the mid 80's hit "Venus." Other popular songs on the set include "Cruel Summer," "I Heard A Rumor," and "Robert Deniro's Waiting." If you bought the U.S. version the import is worth checking out for the additional songs. The remixes are pretty cool.

5.0 out of 5 stars 1999 Reissue of Bananarama's Greatest Hits is Captivating, December 21, 1999
By "bananastein" (New Zealand) - See all my reviews
I will be the first to admit to a Bananarama bias, but this album, albeit their 'Greatest Hits', is one of their best. Packed with 8 UK Top 5 singles, plus another nine Top 40 singles, it makes the perfect vehicle to collect the high points of their career. Included on this special reissue, are the standard 14 tracks (Venus #8, I Heard A Rumour #14, Love In The First Degree #3, I Can't Help It #20, I Want You Back #5, Love Truth & Honesty #23, Nathan Jones (7") #15, Help! #3, Really Sayin' Somethin' #5, Shy Boy #4, Robert de Niro's Waiting #3, Cruel Summer #8, T'aint What You Do #4, Na Na Hey Hey #8, Rough Justice #23), plus CD-bonus tracks Aie A Mwana (#96 - debut single), Trick Of The Night (#32), Venus (Hellfire Mix) and Love In The First Degree (Eurobeat Mix). These 19 tracks were all available on the 1989 reissue of this collection, but the suprise of this 1999 issue is the inclusion of 1991's #20 single Preacher Man. With the take-over of Polygram, this collection was issued with haste, so that none of the liner notes are changed from the 1988 version (BAD! ), and offering only one new track mashed onto the end, is a small carrot to collectors like myself. For those who haven't yet bought this CD and are considering it - GO FOR IT - you will not get a better Bananarama CD than this. For collectors like myself - if you already have Pop Life & The Greatest Hits it's not really worth it. I'd rather they had dropped the 16 minutes of remixes and included other post-1989 singles (of which the other Top 40 singles Only Your Love, Long Train Running, Movin' On, and More More More would have all fitted instead!). UNIVERSAL MUST TRY HARDER! Great to see its selling well tho' :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars Bananarama Still Rocks!, January 11, 2007
By Greg "80s Beach Boy" (Ocean City, NJ) - See all my reviews
After twenty some years, I still love the groovey tunes of the Bananarama girls. I could listen to songs like "Robert DeNiro's Waiting," "Cruel Summer," and my fav-o-rite Bananarama tune "Love, Truth and Honesty," a million times and never tire of them. This is a great compliation. And the extra tune with The Fun Boy Three brings back many wonderful memories on mid-80 dance parties. Long Live Bananarama!!
