Terrific Tender True Toby, November 29, 1999
How much is this fella gettin payed to slam one of country musics greatest singers since Merle Haggard, which, may I remind you, was Toby's roll model? I have listened to this CD and find it truely Toby. The notes and ranges that can only come from his voice. He brings back true COUNTRY music not cross over, pop, or alternative...But COUNTRY music... You don't hear much of that. May I also mention his songwriting abilities. How many #1's has he had? And been awarded for his song writing abilities. I think you need to hire a new reviewer, feel free to email me...This is TK's strongest CD yet...his style nor voice never changes like some peoples...need I mention names? ...The title track is Pure Toby Keith, and the contents of the CD reflect his cowboy ways and tender side and even his fatherhood. Relisten and give us a better view on this terrifec CD.. Listen to You shouldn't kiss me like this.....The Wall....Love You kiss you hold you....Die with your boots on.... Give it a week of non stop ,listening and we'll be waiting for a new review! So Toby In answer to your question How Do you Like Me Now? WE LOVE YOU! Please don't change!

Fun and Clever, September 5, 2003
I really am not a huge country music fan, but I really like and admire Toby Keith (and, of course, Johnny Cash). I prefer the uptempo Toby, and I have to say that "Country Comes To Town," is a truthful, fun morsel of gold. The band is very tight, the vocals strong and the audio quality is excellent. There is no doubt where the title came from. Obviously dealing with a broken heart (a longtime staple of country music) is something that most of us go through eventually. Toby is sly in "How Do You Like Me Now," making it clear who actually got the best end of the deal without being overtly nasty or arrogant, but with clarity and humor, nonetheless. This one song alone makes the CD worth the money (though the rest is also quite good). I am proud of and like Toby Keith for many reasons (not the least of which is standing up to a certain self-important TV news anchor, who will remain nameless), and this CD is certainly one of them. Thanks, Toby, for saying better than I ever could just how I feel in so many of your songs!

I'm a convert, December 7, 2000
After 25+ years of listening to R&B (yes, I'm a black woman) and hating rap (it all sounds alike to me), I switched my TV one day and saw a Toby Keith video. I could actually understand everything the man was trying to say and could empathize with the lyrics. It was then I questioned my loyalty to a kind of music that I'd heard all my life and was determined, 'I'm not going country', but that was 6mos ago and I am proud to say I am a huge fan of Toby Keith. (Toby, please come to Raleigh, NC - SOON).I'd pay to see you in concert. I am working my way thru your album history and I must say I am deeply impressed. I don't believe the Greatest Hits covers it. 'Yet' should have been on there as well as many others. I am giving your newest CD 5 stars, if I could give 10 I would. Forget the critics, keep on doing your thing YOUR WAY. If they could come up with music as heartfelt and as touching as yours - THEY'D DO IT. Looking forward to more music, more videos, just more..... a big fan
