As the only EPA-registered granular snake repellent product, this product has greater than 91% repellency rate for rattlesnakes and garter snakes. The efficacy of this product makes it an indispensable resource in keeping your property free of snakes! This product is detected by the snake's auxiliary olfactory sense organ and disrupts its sensory reception. The disorientation causes the snake to slither away unharmed, in search of fresh air. Wearing gloves, apply the granules to the perimeter of the area that is to be protected. Place bands 4-5 inches wide to repel garter snakes, 8-12 inches wide to repel rattlers. For yard application, sprinkle throughout the area within the perimeter. When odor becomes faint, simply reapply. Read all label precautions and directions before using. This product contains naphthalene (7%) and sulfur (28%) as active ingredients. Environmentally responsible, this product is safe when used as directed.

Follow the directions so you don't trap snakes IN your yard. THis is very effective. I reapply every 3 months in snake season, and we just don't see them. We did before: at least 2 rattlers a year in the back yard, pls 5-6 others. DO NO HANDLE without gloves. I'm sure it has ground up mothballs in it. The odor goes away after a day or two, esp. after you water.

As a Custodial Technician at LAX I find this product very useful for getting rid of snakes. It is difficult to dislodge snakes on a plane; they like the enclosed surroundings. This gets them right out.

Also very good for home use. I recommended it my neighbor Sam who loves to complain about his snake problem ("We got mother****in snakes!") and this cleared the problem up in no time.

The snakes love our pool. I have had 6 or so in the pool. I started using Snake Away about 2 years ago and it seems to help with the snake problem. Good News - 1) No more snakes in our pool and 2) It does not kill the snake - just keeps them away. Bad News - 1) you do have to re-apply every 3-4 weeks or after a heavy rain 2) The smell is awful (strong moth ball smell) - no wonder the snakes stay away. The smell does get better over time, but for the 1st day or two after use, the snakes aren't the other thing that won't go in the pool as my son and his friends refuse to go in while the smell is at it's strongest. I think its worth it!
