4.0 out of 5 stars Halo 16 or not, who cares?, August 25, 2001
By Anthony J. Venezia (Cleveland, OH United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
For all you die hard NIN fans out there like me, let's clear a few things up right now: 1) This single is NOT Halo 16, "Things Falling Apart" is. 2) This IS an official Nine Inch Nails release. 3) It IS worth getting. This album does suffer from a few drawbacks, first and foremost is the fact that everyone is screaming "It's not an official release!" Well, I tell ya what, Halo mark or not, it's official. It also suffers from the fact that it's got no new tracks on it.

Track 1 and 2, Into the Void and We're In This Together, are the first two singles from "The Fragile", and are the LP versions. It also contains "The Perfect Drug" and "The New Flesh", which can be found on the yellow and green WITT singles, respectively (I've long since given up trying to figure out which is #1, #2 or #3). So you're saying, "Wow, the Perfect Drug, that's on The Lost Highway Soundtrack, the Perfect Drug Versions, one of the WITT singles AND this?" Well, unlike the Lost Highway soundtrack and the Perfect Drug versions, this is the EXTENDED version, which goes for about 5-10 seconds longer than the orignal, and sounds SO much better because it doesn't end abruptly. However, the exended version of TPD is ALSO on the yellow WITT single; if the extended mix was ONLY on this CD, I would make this a _MUST HAVE_ CD. "The New Flesh", however, is merely the same as the WITT single version.

Why am I recommending this? Although it's a bit pricey, it's a much more accessible single than the WITT singles for new NIN fans, I think. Brand new NIN fans aren't going to want to get all three WITT singles right off the bat, since they retail for the same price as this single, AND this CD has very recognizable singles, including the EXTENDED TPD version (you can tell I REALLY like it). On the downside, there's not one new track on the CD, but I think the tracklisting itself more than makes up for this.

5.0 out of 5 stars my favorite songs from "The Fragile", April 10, 2000
By "halo1000" (A Warm Place) - See all my reviews
This CD has two of my favorite songs from "The Fragile" - Into the Void and We're In This Together. It also has two B sides - The Perfect Drug (from The Lost Highway soundtrack) and The New Flesh (also on We're In This Together #1). Into the Void is one of my favorite NIN songs. Check this one out - especially if you dont own the Lost Highway Soundtrack.

2.0 out of 5 stars Halo ?, April 27, 2000
By A Customer
This item is in a cardboard sleeve which does not feature any HALO numbers.

The tracks may all be found on the various releases of "We're In This Together" - but at least they chose some of the better ones :)

If you don't have 'The Fragile' AND the WITT singles then this is a good purchase with two good album tracks, a remix and the original version of 'The Perfect Drug'.
