Where the heck is "It's Not Her"??!, January 1, 2002
By A Customer
The album as a whole is cute, mindless fun and actually sounds better than the flak that tends to saturate modern-day radio... and I do get a real kick out of it... but where the HECK is "It's Not Her", the stand out song in the entire movie?!Considering how the song is used in the film -- TWICE, no less -- you'd think it wound have been the album's closing number. In other words, there was no excuse for it to be missing! I did finally manage to get my hands on the song, but not from a music store since it isn't commercially available: because I own the movie in question (otherwise I never would have done the following, as it could be considered illegal), I had to resort to connecting my stereo-playing VCR up to my PC and recording it, then creating a backup of my original "Snow Day" CD with the extra song included. So yeah, I have the song, but it was an ANNOYANCE just to get it. Give me a break. In other words, I DEMAND a re-release of this CD with the extra song. And no, I will NOT settle for waiting 20 years for a "Footloose"-style "20th Anniversary With Bonus Tracks" re-release! And whether or not said action happens will demonstrate whether or not said album producers genuinely care about their audience. I say the above because I for one am sick and tired of albums that call themselves "soundtracks" yet neglect to carry ALL the songs. It's ridiculous! If this were still the 70s, you could bet your life that you'd have a REAL soundtrack with EVERY SCRAP of music included. But not by today's cheapie Hollywood "let's save all the cash we can" standards! Talk about contempt for one's audience.
