5.0 out of 5 stars Vivitar V-2400GX Video/Photo Tripod, June 28, 2000
By Daniel (Alpharetta, GA USA) - See all my reviews
Light weight (under 3lbs), aluminum legs, and a max height of ~60 inches. Geared center column design adds precise vertical control when using the fluid 3-way panhead. It has a quick release mounting platform and a bubble leveler. If you're looking tripod that cost under $30, I would recommend this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars good price, good value, June 22, 2000
By A Customer
This tripod stays in the affordable price range and could easily be used for the new lightweight digital camcorders and cameras. It's easy to set up and works for on the spot stuff. I found the clamping mechanisms a lot handier than the old tripod I used that had screw mechanisms. The hanging hook is a welcome addition, especially if you're the amateur and want to tuck the equipment away. Very nice for the price and load bearing.

5.0 out of 5 stars A light weight, but solid tripod, June 29, 2000
By A Customer
I purchased the Vivitar V-2400GX tripod for my camcorder. This tripod is light weight, yet very solid. When using increasing magnifications, any shaking will be magnified as well. I could carry this tripod very easily and setup was a snap. I used this for a recent graduation ceremony and it eliminated any shaking. This tripod is solid. You do not need to worry about knocking it over. It won't.
