I really enjoyed this CD, much as I enjoy just about everything that I've heard from Rhino.

Owning tons of collection CDs, this is one of the better ones, because it is not full of those same songs that comprise most '80s compilations. Harder-to-find tunes like "Tempted," "I Got You," "Spage Age Love Song," and "Love Plus One" are on this CD but not on any of my multitude of other 80s discs.

As one would expect, the sound quality is great. The songs flow well. It's a great addition to anyone who likes 80's music. After owning it for years, I keep digging it out again and again.

Heart Beats' Love Plus One compiliation is a fine collection of 80's romantic hits that is both enjoyable and nostalgic. It has a generous sixteen tracks, and I like the fact that the producers didn't go for the most obvious singles by the artists featured on this collection but instead with more obscure, underrated songs that you are perhaps not as familiar with. These tracks are all catchy and stick with you. I particularly like the title track by Haircut One Hundred of 'Love Plus One', one of my favorite underrated songs of 1982. Some you know well like 'Hold Me Now' by The Thompson Twins and 'Suddenly Last Summer' by The Motels while others such as 'Space Age Love Song' by A Flock Of Seagulls and 'Crazy' by Icehouse are not as familiar but just as welcome. Overall, a great romantic and nostalgic 80's collection of romantic songs.

'I Melt With You' by Modern English (Yes! A true favorite!)
'Space Age Love Song' by A Flock Of Seagulls
'Tenderness' by General Public
'Hang On Now' by Kajagoogoo
'I Got You' by Split Enz
and, of course, 'True' by Spandau Ballet (Yeah, I know, you can't escape that one!)

Also includes excellent liner notes by Denise Sullivan and great pictures of the artists included on this album. Overall, a great romantic 80's new wave compiliation to add to your collection.

Finally! An awesome collection of some of the best new wave and modern rock love songs of the '80s, including tracks from Human League, Culture Club, Thompson Twins, Modern English, Kajagoogoo, and my favorite Icehouse track that I haven't been able to find anywhere else!
