Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The compact Olympus Stylus Zoom 115 QD camera has a precisionautofocusing system that ensures sharp, clear pictures. Its fullyautomatic operations include autofocus, auto exposure, film loading, and film rewind. The 3x, 38-115mm zoom lens lets the photographershoot everything from wide-angle views to telephoto close-ups.

The variable-power flash provides soft illumination, giving your subject natural skin tones even at close range. When your subject is backlit or under artificial light, the color-balancing flash fires automatically. In night portrait mode, the camera automatically lowers the shutter speed to ensure that both foreground and background are properly lit for night scenes. If your subject is in both bright light and dark shadow, the fill flash softens the sharp contrasts, giving the scene a more natural look. However, in those cases when flash photography is not permitted, or if you want to capture that "moody" special effect using just available light, a flash-off mode is also included.

Product Description

The Stylus Epic Zoom 115 QD joins the Stylus family, the world's best-selling point-and-shoot camera series ever. This 35mm model is a slimmer version of its predecessor, the Stylus Zoom 115, and continues to pack an impressive punch with its 38,115mm 3x zoom lens with a real image viewfinder that's 70% brighter than the original, providing outstanding picture clarity and sharpness. For truer color reproduction, the camera sports Olympus's exclusive auto color-balancing flash that ensures natural color even when shooting in artificial/fluorescent lighting situations. These features, together with the camera's all-weather construction, help make the Stylus Epic Zoom 115 QD one of the most convenient and sophisticated quartz date models available.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pocket Full of Photos, June 13, 2000
By A Customer
Ten years ago my Dad purchased an Olympus All Weather camera for me for my birthday when I was still in college. Prior to that time I had been using a Kodak 110 to capture all of my fishing and backing images. Let's just say it did not fair well with the rain, snow, dirt and pine needles that came it's way. Enter the Olympus...

Having survived almost every imaginable torture my original camera final met its maker when it fell from a cliff in the Cascades. I knew what I had to do; replace it with a Stylus.

As with the original Olympus I used for years, the 115 QD has demonstrated that it can take fantastic pictures in questionable circumstances. Although the camera is very small relative to my large hands, I find it easily manipulated and steadied. It takes near flawless photos. Unlike it's grandparents, the 115 can comfortably fit in one's front pocket and takes virtually no space on camping and fishing trips.

I figure I'll have this camera until it takes a leap of faith, as did my previous camera. Olympus is shooting 100% in my book.

5.0 out of 5 stars I LOVE MY "ROBO-CAM", October 19, 2000
By C. De La Cruz (Long Beach, California) - See all my reviews
I did a great deal of research before purchasing this camera and I've determined that this little Olympus is a great value for the money. My favorite features? Well, aside from the cool telescoping zoom lens that makes a hi-tech "whirring" sound...the size is perfect (not too big; not too small), film is easy to load, digital read-outs are simple to set and easy to read, buttons are easy to manipulate (for those of us with nails), operation is intuitive and prints are rich and sharp. Anyone can take great pictures with this camera (I've already snapped off 20+ rolls) and enlargements are crisp and true to the original. I'm thrilled with my Olympus and heartily recommend it for anyone seeking a camera with a very good zoom range (35-115), highly-rated lens and elegant, yet sturdy styling. Everyone needs a robo-cam in their camera collection. :-)

5.0 out of 5 stars superb picture quality in a small enough package, November 15, 2000
I took the olympus stylus zoom on my backpacktravels thru africa, australia etc etc. Hence it took a lot of bumping and hassling. It even rolled down more than 300 yards of a sand (!) dune in Namibia. And it still didnt suffer. Still the same super quality of pictures. I took good nature shots, the zoom even allowed for some good wildlife ones. And with that superb picture quality its not as big as a mirrorreflex. No big clumpsy camerabags to handle. Excellent.

Highly recommended.
