About the Actor
Johnnie Liliedahl, an oil painter greatly influenced by the 18th and 19th century Realists, brings an old world, multilayered look to her paintings. Her style is a unique blend of traditional studio techniques with modern plein-air color and paint application. She is a full-time painter and enthusiastic teacher, conducting an annual schedule of workshops for art groups in the United States, Canada, and Europe. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tulsa and did post-graduate work in painting and drawing at Louisiana State University, but she credits much of her knowledge and skills to working artists, with whom she has studied in classes such as those she now teaches.
She taught four years at Tulsa Junior College where she developed her teaching style. Students in her classes may expect college-level instruction with professionally-developed text resources. She has been teaching for almost 30 years, with 24 years as an independent art instructor in her own studios and as a travel-teacher with a nationwide following.
She is an accomplished writer and publisher of art instruction books, booklets, articles, projects and videos
