You'd need to drop an Acme safe on it..., November 10, 2000
...Just to put a dent in it. Is it ugly? Depends. If you like a sleek, smooth form factor, this is NOT the case for you. I am more worried about damage than style, but even so I kind of like the rugged, industrial look. I could have used the edges rounded off, and a fraction of an inch thicker. The buttons of my Visor have these small, worn spots where the inside of the Ti Slider has rubbed off the paint. I hate that. Furthermore, I had to bend the catch to make it close properly.Pretty cheesy, huh? That's what I thought, until I dropped my Visor while getting out of my truck. I have a large, high truck, and it fell at least 4 feet to the pavement. Completely protected, no damage at all. I have sat on this thing, banged the truck door into it while it was in my pocket, watched the Ti Slider slide right off the arm of the couch onto the floor, and countless other things. We could be here all day discussing the terrible things I do to my Visor. Still no damage. None. Drawbacks aside, that makes it worth every penney.

Cool, May 30, 2000
OK- it's big, it's noisy, it uses neoprene to hold your Palm in place and it doesn't come with a belt clip. I still give it 4 stars because A) it's made of titanium. B) it comes with a Ti stylus. C) I had a small, attractive case once- cost me $100 for screen replacement. D) as big as it looks, it's actually lighter than my IIIxe. E) I stood on it without damaging my Palm (I'm not a small guy). F) Titanium... the SR-71 is made of titanium. G) the price is less than a new screen. H) the people at Rhinoskin are friendly and helpful and stuff. I) did I mention that titanium is cool?I don't think this thing is for everyone. I don't get invited to many board meetings, but when I'm pulling fiber under a floor, I don't have time to worry about my Palm. I'm also fairly clumsy and, although I haven't drop-tested it yet, it SEEMS like it protects better than anything else I've tried.

Titanium Handspring Case, June 15, 2000
This product is definitely for the "form follows function" crowd. It's ugly and expensive. However, if you are like me and prone to drop your PDA, it might be a necessary evil. I thought about shelling out the extra bucks for a Palm V just because there are at least 2 or 3 elegant hard cases available for it. The Visor has no such good fortune, so you're stuck with either a leather case or this titanium one. Unfortunately, the titanium case runs at $99. There is a myth that titanium is extremely hard to work with, which is true if you're making a bicycle, but for that amount of money I would really expect a more compact, possibly contoured shape. It would also be nice if the visor snapped into place rather than being held in by the friction against neoprene tape. All in all, i say that if you have the opportunity, spend half an hour in a metal shop and make your own case out of some sheet metal. It would look and work about as well, and only cost you about five bucks and an hour of labor. Otherwise, go ahead and get the titanium one. If you drop your PDA, this is its best chance for survival.
