Product Description

From the Manufacturer
Epson Iron-on Cool Transfer Paper makes it possible to create custom T-shirts, bags and more. The process is easy. Simply print an image onto the transfer paper using an InkJet printer then iron onto fabric. When the fabric and iron-on image have cooled, the backing can peeled away to reveal a bright, colorful image.

Product Description
Epson Iron-on Cool Peel Transfers let you decorate fabric with photos in minutes. They are ideal for customized T-shirts, placemats, tote bags and more. The transfer peels off easily after it cools and can be applied with a regular household iron. Image retains original color, wash after wash.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Review of Iron-On Transfer Paper? I must be bored :-), May 25, 2003
By Victor I. Poon "vipoon" (Stony Brook, NY United States) - See all my reviews
I've only tried a few different brands of Iron-On Transfer paper, (so far Avery, HP and Epson) and I can say that this one works rather well. The ability to peel the transfer paper backing off the shirt when it's cool works better than another brand of paper in which you have to peel the backing when it's still warm.

I see two drawbacks and both are minor but significant:

1) The backing of the paper is blank/white just like the front and it's almost impossible to tell which side is the one that you want to print on. One corner of the paper is cut off to tell you the orientation and Epson only has directions for their printer. Basically, if your printer feeds from the bottom, you orient it one way, but... if your printer feeds from the top, it's a different ball game. They tell you this on their website. Other brands of transfer paper have faded words on their paper to tell you which is the back.

2) Epson only provides the clear/white paper. If you try this on any dark colored shirt, you will see the iron-on transfer clearly and it doesn't look good. They mention it in one sentence in the instructions.

That's my 2 cents,

Victor

5.0 out of 5 stars The best on the market, July 28, 2001
By Stephanie Mckeon "foxglove9" (brooklyn, NY United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I make dozens of t-shirts and tested 4 other brands like Invent-it, Zerox, etc... and by far the Epson brand work the best. I have washed the same shirt 30+ times already and the image looks just as good as when I first made the t-shirt.

4.0 out of 5 stars does what it says on the tin, June 24, 2005
I do a lot of my own art design and printing and am frequently dismayed by the lack of imaginative artwork available from professional T.Shirt manufacturers. Also often dissapointed with goods I've ordered online. I have often desired to try using my own designs but was sceptical of results achievable using a home printer.
Decided this week to give Epson cool transfer paper a try - carefully following instructions and using an expendable T shirt to experiment.
I needn't have worried - worked perfect first time. There are plenty of pale pastel shade fabrics available that show off the prints superbly ~ these can be inexpensive and make the process cost effective. Laundered and handled carefully they give sufficient wear to provide a decorative alternative and cheap way to customise casual clothing. I'm impressed.
