Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Consolidate all the remotes cluttering your coffee table with Pacific Neo-Tek's OmniRemote Module. It plugs easily into your Handspring Visor Springboard expansion slot. Simply draw a button on the screen and program it with the IR sequence you want it to emit when you press the button. If you need more buttons on the same screen, just resize and program as many as you want.

Product Description

The Best universal remote for the PalmOS just got more convenient! If you have a Handspring Visor handheld organizer this is just what you've been waiting for. If you want the best, most configurable universal remote available this is it. Even if you need to buy a Visor just to use it, you'll still find it more economical than an equivalent stand alone remote.

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC PRODUCT, August 13, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Pacific Neo-Tek OmniRemote Springboard Module (Electronics)
After a few glitches with an installed hack or two, I got the OmniRemote up and running and was completly satisified with the functionality of the unit. The ability to create buttons and assign functions to them is very handy. Added to that is the ability to create macros which just adds to its functionality. It works so much better than the software only version. The improved IR on the unit is quite powerful and will control my TV from up to 25' away and at quite an angle. Great job guys!

5.0 out of 5 stars This thing Rocks!, May 5, 2001
This review is from: Pacific Neo-Tek OmniRemote Springboard Module (Electronics)
Ever wish you could mute everything in your home theatre "stack" with one button? This can do it. Ever want to control three different TVs but a "universal" remote will only do one? This will do it. Ever wish the "slow scan and zoom" feature was a single press on your DVD player for those special DVDs ? This can do it. Design your own remote, using macros make buttons that talk to lots of things, talk to things you can't buy a remote for (like the Sony AIBO), all possible with this gizmo.

Its definitely worth it, and the high power IR led makes it all that much better. Too bad you can't beam with it. Also unlike a 'learning remote' you might get, this doesn't forget when you change the batteries. Hotsync and you're back in business.

If you are a couch potato, you _need_ this module.

4.0 out of 5 stars The good...the bad...but not too bad, May 22, 2001

Ok, let's break this one down:

Good: Programmable Macros, you push one button, it pushes as many as you set. Timer, set a time to push some buttons, and it will do it.

Bad: Setup, some of my TV remote buttons wouldn't program correctly, I had to adjust an "IR sample rate" setting to get it to work correctly. I've never seen any Universal remote need one of those settings. Power, this thing doesn't have as much reach as my other remote controls (or so it seems).

Overall: A good buy if you don't mind some setup hassles, and you're using the remote within 10 feet of your TV. Besides it's one more weird gadget to impress your friends with :-)
