Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
The "tracks" on L.A.-based house DJ Richard "Humpty" Vission's aptly titled album, his sixth full-length release, come fast and furiously, just as they should from a master turntablist. Ten minutes into the disc, the man has already moved through 12 or 13 songs. The flow is complex but undeniable as he throws the needle down on yet more wax, tossing records around like Frisbees. And he doesn't let himself get bogged down with just house music--he hurls out straight techno, dance pop, soul, and funk with postmodern poise. Along with the work of other waxmen such as DJ Dan, Todd Terry, and Carl Cox (especially on Mixed Live), this record--which brilliantly showcases Vission's manic, house-y vibe--brings the genre one step closer to falling off the precipice of worldwide domination. --Matthew Cooke

4.0 out of 5 stars Crazy Techno, Great for Partying!, August 30, 2000
By Chris Torrey (Peabody, MA) - See all my reviews
If i were to have a party i would just put this album in my stereo and let it spin all night long, all the songs just slide right into the next with different beets, and lyrics one after another for 62 minutes.... The Best songs are "the launch" by DJ Jean, "you dont know me" by Armand Van Helden, "the funk return" by Subsonic, and "a DJ saved my life" by many different unknown DJ's.... if your a partier and you like clubbin buy this album you wont be disappionted..

5.0 out of 5 stars Make up your own mind!, September 13, 2000
By A Customer
First off, I don't know what the hell these people are talking about. This album is by far one of the best albums ever made. This album is a true 6 star album don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Now if you don't like House music or you don't like Techno in general then you WILL still like this album. But if you do decide that you don't want it then fine, miss out!

That means the album won't get played out! But if you do decide to get it, then I promise you won't be sorry. P.S. Humpty Rules!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the dopest albums of the year..., March 18, 2001
By Brian H. (Fort Collins, USA) - See all my reviews
For all you people who loved House Connection 2 and anything from this guy in the early days, you are in for a treat. This mix is incredible - Richard throws down huge tracks that are peppered by solid and funky vocals... simply amazing, because of the time it takes him to mix two records together. Rich throws down a number of phat tracks that seamlessly blend to create a very intense, buzzing CD. Every song that graces the tables on this CD is tweaked to Humpty's perfection - the first half is hard, bangin' house like you would expect. The rest is a mix between hard and disco house, which makes a perfct finish for a perfect CD. Buy this one, you won't regret it.

2.0 out of 5 stars 54 great tracks on 1 CD mix = GARBAGE
That is correct, 30 second snippets on 1 CD means that you end up with a disc that sucks. Don't get me wrong, Richard Vission is a great DJ, but this is a disaster. Read more
