The Sony WM-FS420 AM/FM Cassette Walkman features a four-track, two- channel stereo system for exceptional sound. Auto-reverse playback lets you enjoy an entire cassette without having to flip it over. The antirolling mechanism maintains stable tape speed during any activity, while the automatic volume limiter system (AVLS) adjusts music passages that vary widely for clear, improved sound.

Other features include a digitally synthesized AM/FM tuner with 30 presets, Sony's Mega Bass system, a digital LCD display (with battery indicator), a water-resistant body, and an action hand grip.

The Walkman runs on two AA batteries. An extended battery life (up to 24 hours of cassette playback, 30 hours of FM reception) is made possible by advanced technology. Sony MDR headphones and a belt clip are included.

The Walkman comes with a warranty of one year on parts and 90 days on labor.

Rugged Water Resistant Sports Series case is designed for outdoor fun with rubber gaskets, bushings, and water resistant seals that help keep out water, moisture and dirt. Adjustable Action Grip makes it easier to hold the unit while in action during jogging, walking, or other activities. Mega Bass sound system produces deeper, richer bass tones for more pleasing overall sound. Auto Reverse Tape Playback provides uninterrupted playback of both cassette sides. Digital LCD Display indicates radio station frequency, clock, preset status, and cassette operation. Anti-Rolling Mechanism maintains stable tape speed to maximize sound quality while unit is in motion when walking or during use in other activities. Automatic shut-off in playback mode helps extend battery life and helps prevent mechanical wear by turning off unit at end of tape. AVLS (Automatic Volume Limiter System) automatically adjusts music passages that vary widely, for improved listener comfort and clear sound. Sports Stereo Headphones Supplied are Sony MDR (Micro Dynamic Receiver) type and offer wide dynamic range with excellent sound. I was in need of something to use to listen to music while i worked out. I didnt really want a portable cd played because they are to bulky and cannot take as much punishment as a tape player. there are many of these tape players to choose from, all of the so called "sport one". This one has it ALL. the main component i needed was the belt clip, but this one also has a little hand carrier thing that is adjustable. another feature i really like is the volume adjuster. it is a very rigid dial and only turns when you want it to. the digital tuner with 30 presets is also very useful. i think the mega bass works very well also. another must for me was the locking tape clip. when i am in the weight room it usually takes a light beating but never stops playing. the waterproof is also helpful in that my walkman is usually a little drenched in sweat after a few hours working out. just to sum it up, i bought this to lift weights with, and it works perfect for it, but now i use it while riding a bike, running, cutting the grass, at school, and while cleaning the house. if this sounds like things you do, definitely spring for this one. its worth it

why even bother giving us headphones if they know they are going to break!? why can't sony ever have a product live up to its price!? what is there here that you can't find on a ... player! nothing! they made the headphones from the thinest plastic in the world. the sound is worse then fingernails on a blackboad,and i've never heard a casseat player skip before now, and that was the entire reason i went back to cassetes from CD's

Can't find walkmans around any more. This is the best one I found and I am very happy with it.
