The Philips AZ114017 CD radio cassette recorder combines a top-loading CD player, stereo cassette player, and AM/FM stereo tuner in a stylized, modern design. The CD player features the convenience of random track access and CD functions such as CD program, shuffle, play, and repeat. It stores up to 20 of your favorite CD tracks for playing back in order of preference. It is capable of playing CD-recordable and CD-rewritable discs. The AZ114017 synchronizes the start of a recording on audio cassette with the start of a CD at the touch of a button. To avoid stretching the tape, the cassette deck automatically shuts off at the end of playback. Four-inch full-range speakers provide sound across the entire audio frequency spectrum. You can also use the stereo headphone jack for private listening. The Philips AZ114017 operates with either batteries or an AC/DC adapter.

If your looking for a radio with all the basics, this is the one. Although based on the picture this item may look confusing, it's not. The sound quality is VERY good and the buttons become very easy to use once you get to know the item. The display is very easy to read even in low light situations. It truly is a good radio to own for CD and Cassette playing. Radio station are very easy to tune to and CLEAR.

This is a soon-to-be dorm room stereo. It is attractive, pretty solidly put together and has a very nice sound with surprisingly good stereo separation. The CD player is also very good, and the FM tuner is well above average (actually more sensitive than the nice Bose system that won't be headed for the dorm). My only regret is that it doesn't come with a remote, but of course I knew that before I ordered.

This high quality boombox is a great value. It has a lot of great features like bass enhancement and it sounds a lot more powerful than it actually is! This would make a great gift for a graduate or teen birthday.
