Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
Just because a movie is a comedy doesn't mean that the music accompanying it is a joke. No, often the opposite is true. You don't need music upstaging the actors. What if it gets more laughs? So the sequel to the Nutty Professor features an all-star cast of R&B and hip-hop stars who do the serious stuff best. The smooth R&B tracks are offset by ferocious hip-hop grooves, creating a constantly shifting scene of alternating moods. Just as sentimentality hits its peak with Case's "Missing You," things are seriously shaken up by Method Man's "Even If." Sometimes the extremes seem a but much. Do Brian McKnight fans want to share time with Sisqo (featuring Foxy Brown) and Eminem (here with Redman), and vice versa? This may be a case where hearing it all in the context of the movie would help listeners make the less-than-obvious connections. As a special enticement, the final track is a preview from the new LL Cool J album, G.O.A.T. --Rob O'Connor

5.0 out of 5 stars Janet is back!, July 11, 2000
By A Customer
Janet returns to acting in Nutty Professor 2 and a slammin' new track. "Doesn't Really Matter" is already burning up the airwaves. She sounds great and the video is amazing. And with DMX and Eve also on the album, you can't go wrong!

5.0 out of 5 stars get nutty!!!, September 4, 2000
By A Customer
the movie, the soundtrack & the characters, are all absolutely amazing, funny & entertaining, and the soundtrack is nothing shy of a classic. with great rnb, rap, & pop the soundtrack will blow you out the water, and will not allow you to take it out the sterio.

branded 3 of the hottest summer singles of all time: "doesn't really matter" by janet jackson, the risque' "thong song uncensorded" by the thong king, sisqo & raps hottest sex kitten foxy brown, and lets not forget "hey papi" jay-z's newest addition to the hip hop world, with amil, memphis bleek & the multi-talented timbaland. but thats not all.

other veterans appear on this record, and the tracks are gonna appear on greatest hits albums because they are nothing shy of a classic. method man hits us hard with "even if", and dmx's rugged "i'm gonna crawl" will keep you locked. montell jordan's "once upon a time (do you remember)" & r.kelly's "just a touch" represent for the rnb team, while redman teams up with the ever popular superstar, pop icon eminem to record "off the wall". the best track on the album though is awarded to case, as he steals the show with "missing you". even brian mcknight whom i consider hit or miss makes a stunning performance with "thinkin bout me". ruff ryder's only lady, the annoying hipocrit eve breaks the records good songs streak with her horrible "let me be".

thats not all, believe it or not. rnb newcomers easily knock the veterans to there knees, with there contributions to the soundtrack, especially shorty 101's awesome "get with me", the best dance track on the album. dru hill even lends jazz to the project so he could do "here with me", and the newest rnb diva to bless us kandice love, hits us hard, with the excellent "no you didn't say". even newcomers musiq with "just friends" will keep you bouncing your head, and not stopping. they are just as amazing as the veterans

i thought the soundtrack was to good to be true, but i was wrong, this soundtrack is the best EVER. easily one of my top ten favorite albums of all time. i hope that my review will help you and make you get the album, because its so hot!
