Create customized trips of any length and duration, choosing routes based on any of a range of criteria, including AAA accommodation ratings, up-to-date construction information pulled off the Internet, and more.

Installation is simple, and the friendly interface makes trip planning almost as fun as the big vacation itself. Once the trip is settled, you can print the maps on paper, port them to Palm OS devices, or even shuttle them along on a GPS-enhanced laptop--but keep your eyes on the road! There's no comprehensive address database, so some out-of-the-way relatives might be hard to track down unless they give exceptionally clear directions, but for the most part campgrounds, restaurants, hotels, and most urban locations are pretty easy to find.

Tracking past trips is easy and fun with the slide-show feature, which lets users develop multimedia presentations, including digital pictures. Keeping kids busy in the car is also a breeze with the activities provided on the disc and available for printing--license-plate bingo should keep the driver sane long enough to reach the next destination. Use the Via routing feature to easily select individual road segments that are exactly the way you want them. Set driving speeds, and select the types of roads you want to travel. The Tour Guide feature allows access to a multimedia display of points of interest, so you can get an advance look at the many places to visit on your trip. Additionally, the built-in DeLorme Slide Show feature accepts images from digital cameras, scanners, and digital photofinishing services, so you can save a slide show and e-mail it to family and friends. You can even add photos to your maps, a great way to remember where you've been. Once your trip is created, you can print detailed travel plans showing your route, in addition to the AAA-approved points of interest you've selected along your route. And, after you've hit the road, you can use the Earthmate GPS Receiver (available separately) to track your progress in real time on your Map'n'Go maps. Map N' Go and Street Atlas, both by Delorme, serve two different purposes. The user interfaces are similar and many of the functions are the same (fastest/shortest route, driving directions, trip planners, GPS track while driving on a laptop) but the audiences are different. If you want to plan a vacation, use MNG because it has more information on points of interest. It also loads faster (on my laptop). You will not be able to navigate to a particular street address - that's what SA does best - but who cares if you're driving to Orlando and just need to get to a particular hotel? The list of hotels in each is extensive (though not complete). The GPS functions are quite different between the two. SA will upload *named* waypoints to your GPS receiver. MNG will upload *numbered* ones so that you have no clue which one refers to what place. This to me is what clearly differentiates the two for road trips. So, if you want to plan a vacation and perhaps just track yourself on a moving map on your laptop with GPS, MNG is for you. If you instead need to find particular street addresses and like having descriptive waypoints on your GPS receiver as you drive, the SA is what you want.

Map and go is a a smaller version of Delorme's street atlas- If you need to get a detailed printout of any or all of your maps Street Atlas is the way to go. Map n go is just the cheaper smaller version.

A must have the most accurate and has all the AAA points of interest and necessary stops and more AAA approved and recommended safe stops and more. Wont go anywhere without it!

High priced, at 69.99 but you get what you pay for; in this case is true!
