5.0 out of 5 stars Show them your taking care of business...., November 1, 2000
By A Customer
The Supremes' were certainly Taking Care of Business when they appeared live on NBC-TV in the United States with their Motown brothers...the Temptations back in 1968. The soundtrack from the tv special ..released the next day...became a number one album. On many of the songs the girls sing duets with the Tempts ..but they also perform their greatest hits in a fast paced abbreviated form. This album alone is a treat for any Supremes fan but there is a bonus...another entire album released earlier in their career ..is included on this disc...A LITTLE BIT OF LIVERPOOL. It features the Supremes classic takes on hit songs by the Beatles and other hot British groups of the sixities. The girls hit the mark with their version of A HARD DAYS NIGHT. Two great albums on one disc!

5.0 out of 5 stars MEMORIES, November 10, 2001
By Richard Ketler "ROSSFAN" (Alliance, Ohio United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I remember so vivdly watching Diana Ross and the Supremes with the Temptations doing their first television special together called "T.C.B." (Takin' Care of Business). I was only 16 years old back then. Now I am 49 years young and still enjoy playing this TV soundtrack with its excellent CD sound quality. Diana's stirring dialogue in the song "Somewhere" is so heart-wrenching. As for the album "A Bit of Liverpool", it is not one of my favorites, but there are some great songs from the British Invasion here. Diana, Mary and Florence do them justice. This is also a must for any die-hard Supremes fan!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money, August 31, 2005
When the Supremes brought out the album A Little Bit Of Liverpool at the height of the British Invasion, I like many other teens of that time would buy anything that resembled the music of the Beatles, Dave Clark Five and so on. I was also a huge Supemes fan, so I bought the album. Although, nowhere near the quality of the originals or other Supreme's albums, I still enjoyed it. The record is now old and full of pops and cracks and so on. When I seen this CD which also included a copy of an album TCB which was a recording of a live perfomrance by the Supremes and the Temptations, I thought what the heck and bought it.
What a waste of money. The Little Bit Of Liverpool is the worst sounding CD I have ever purchased. It seems no effort was made to even make the CD sound good. Maybe, they just took an old tape and slapped it onto the CD without doing anything to enhance the sound. It is so bad, that I would prefer to listen to my old album, at least it has some bass. As far as the other album, TCB, it is not quite as bad considering it is a live performance, but the selection of music and the performance are below the standards a person would expect from two major groups.
My main complaint with this CD is not necessarily the material, it is the sound. The Motown Sound as I remember was based on a great instrumental background of driving drums, guitars, horns and so on. This is lacking competely in the CD. I think the engineering is poorly done and so I would not recomment this CD or any of the others in the series. Better to listen to the old album than this crap. It is easier on the ears.

I'm not crazy about TCB - but the Bit of Liverpool album has some great three part harmony that you don't hear in the Supremes' later recordings. Read more
