4.0 out of 5 stars Bruce Lee as Kato, October 16, 2002
This tape consists of 3 episodes from the "Green Hornet" t.v. series which were made into a 1974 theatrical release movie (according to the description on the back of the tape box). The film was edited to highlight some of Bruce's fight scenes from the t.v. series.

The Green Hornet is similar to the "Batman" t.v. series of the 60's but not quite as hokey. It is quite fun to see Bruce as Kato and brings back memories of seeing the series when I was a kid. Kinda cheesy but fun!

Technical fyi: the tape has been digitally re-mastered from a 35mm print in the original 1:1.85 theatrical aspect ratio, and also includes a documentary featurette on "Black Beauty"; Green Hornet's special custom car.

4.0 out of 5 stars don't have high hopes, January 13, 2001
By jeff simmons (pikeville, tn United States) - See all my reviews
if your a bruce lee fan you will like to see a young bruce lee in action but don't get to hyped up remember this was a 1960's television program. The fight scenes are not the type you will see in his movies.this really consists of three of the series plots put together one after the other.I liked this but I am a bruce lee fan.you will also get to see a young Mako..My main drawback is that it is in widescreen format.

1.0 out of 5 stars How Could They Do This To The Green Hornet?, September 6, 2004
By Stephen A. Jestis "Tony" (St. Louis, Missouri) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I purchased this from an outside vendor a few years ago. I understand that this was a theatrical release of a number of episodes of the popular 1966 television series. Having grown up with "The Green Hornet", I was curious to see how my heroe was treated.

I am shocked! The lighting is poor, the editing is shabby (In one scene, they cut to a fight scene from an entirely different episode and then cut back. We are supposed to think that it was all one scene!), and the scenes selected, in my opinion, do represent the best of the series. I am pleased that they included "Invasion From Outer Space". It was the last episode of the series and was in 2 parts (somewhat typical of "The Green Hornet").

I am pleased to know that a new theatrical release in in the planning phases right now. To learn more click your browser to thegreenhornet.com. If you are using Google, there are a number of sites dedicated to the Green Hornet. If you are a fan or simply curious or you grew up believing in your heroe, check them out. You will be glad you did.
