5.0 out of 5 stars My all time favorite album, November 24, 2000
By "dal8" (Eugene, Or) - See all my reviews
This is my all time favorite album. I'm not a music critic so I wouldn't do the album justice to try and convince anyone based on words. You've simply gotta listen to the best music on the planet. I have been trying to find a copy of the "Ship of fools" video now for years without success. Now that Karl has rereleased his older albums with the videos he'll be parting me from even more of my cash! Way to go Karl.

4.0 out of 5 stars "All Aboard", March 29, 2003
By Jerry Fry (Freeman, MO USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought this album not long after it came out in 1986. The only song I'd heard from it was "Ship of Fools". I didn't care much for the rest but grew to like nearly the entire album. "All Come True" is one of the best songs, follow the bass to get the full effect. Another of my favorites is "It Can Be Beautiful (Sometimes)", which I didn't see mentioned. I've read that the following album "Goodbye Jumbo" is the magnum opus but I don't believe so. This is one of the best albums from '86 and has a different sound than most of the rock that was playing then. "Ship of Fools" has a message that still holds true today.

4.0 out of 5 stars BLAST FROM THE PAST, July 27, 2001
By Carl Mack (Palm Springs, CA United States) - See all my reviews
World Party and Lenny Kravitz are often referred to a retro rockers but I find them both to be very creative and brilliant songwriters. Frankly I would rather listen to this c.d. than just about anything put out in the last year. There is a wide variety of music here too. Rock-Funk in "Is It Too Late?". Smooth falsetto soul in "Ain't Gonna Come Til I'm Ready". Retro rock on "When the Rainbow Comes", Pop on "Put the Message In the Box", the classic ballad "When I Fell Back Alone" and the late Beatles period sounding "Thank You World". Great music from a very talented man.
