Mike Joyce-The Washington Post
. . .framed the melancholy lyrics with some wonderfully expressive guitar work reminiscent of T-Bone Walker.

5.0 out of 5 stars Authentic Swing!, October 17, 2000
By Lou Dickman (Colorado) - See all my reviews
There's a feeling of authenticity about this recording.Listening to "Broadway" makes me feel like it's 1939, not Y2K. These guitarists could easily have been jamming with Charlie Christian on "Flying Home." "Exactly Like You" is a favorite! Look for a bunch of guest appearences on this CD! I won't spoil all the surprises, but, David Grissman, anyone? Be sure to check out "All Blues." You haven't heard it done like this before. Gerry Beaudoin is fast becoming a well known jazzer. His solo CDs (Minor Swing, Just Among Friends, for starters have achieved "classic" status. Excellent work, Gerry! Duke Robillard; another guy who has paid his dues and knows exactly what he is doing. Roomful Of Blues fans, check this one out. Great guitar and vocals on "Exactly Like You" (a favorite) and "The Trouble With Me Is You." Jay Geils, yes it's that Jay Geils, who has obviously played this style of music from his gut for a long time, plays! And yes, he does it the way it should be played! "I Stay In The Mood" will satisfy old and new fans alike. It's hard to point out highlights on this CD; it's ALL highlights! Excellent support from a diverse list of musicians (check out the liner notes.)Recently, a lot of "swing" bands have come and gone, but these guys are the real thing! Buy this CD!

5.0 out of 5 stars I have over 500 Cd's and this one really blew my mind., December 10, 2000
By A Customer
When I bought this CD at a live gig of the New Guitar Summit little did I know that the party would continue. This is some of the best three guitarists that I have ever heard. I know Jay , Gerry and Duke from years of listening to their music, and as a friend as well as a fan I recommend it highly. When did you ever get a rock, blues and jazz guitarist to make a CD like this together and have it come out this way. This is a great Cd and I love it. If you want great jazz and blues guitar this is it.
