Excellent Quality Soundtrack, February 3, 2005
This version of the Holiday Inn soundtrack (on the Soundtrack Factory label) is as near perfect as it gets. There are other versions out there, released on different labels, and reviews that I have seen of those have talked about the poor sound quality. Not so in this version. What you get here is perfect sound quality and excellent editing. It sounds as though this disc might have been mastered directly from the original soundtrack. The folk at Soundtrack Factory have done an excellent job of preserving this wonderful soundtrack -- a collection of songs that, if 1940's swing with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire is your thing, will bring you happiness and joy. There are also a couple of lovely ballads from Bing, and two versions of the immortal 'White Christmas'. Plus, as a bonus there's also the audio track from the movie trailer. All around, it's a high quality soundtrack CD.

A Wonderful Find, January 17, 2005
What a great addition to my collection! I must admit, I've been hooked on this movie ever since I was a kid. In the days before video tapes and DVDs, I used to anxiously await the next issue of TV Guide and search the movie guide for this movie to be shown every holiday season. Whatever time it was being shown, I was parked in front of the TV. When VCRs and video tapes became available, it was the first one I sought out and bought.
If you enjoy the movie, I highly recommend buying this CD. Though it's an import and it took a long time to receive, it was well worth it! The cuts are taken exactly as they are performed from the movie, hence the category: 'Soundtrack' (it truly is the real thing, dialog and all). The quality is excellent. And there's a bonus -- it even conatins an 18th cut, the original trailer that must have been used in theaters, advertising the movie.
Do yourself a favor if you enjoy listening to music and visualizing movie footage -- buy this CD -- and, "don't ask why, just go and God Bless America!"

I made this cd myself!, November 18, 2003
Back in the mid eighties I wanted the soundtrack to the film HOLIDAY INN but was having difficulty in finding it. Remember the days prior to internet shopping and auction sites?!? So I whipped out the old tape recoreder and mic and recorded each song, dialouge from the film included, and made myself a tape. It was great to have as I was now able to play the tape in the car and on my walkman.
Well this cd is exactly the same thing. The producers, took the songs directley from the film, dialouge included. I don't have the actual cd but hopefully the sound quality is better than my home made version. While you can purchase the soundtrack to the flim HOLIDAY INN, it does not contain both versions of "I'll Capture Your Heart". The first version occurs at the begining of the film and again with new verses at the end of the film listed as "Ending Medley". Also the song Fred Astaire dances to during July 4th, "Let's Say It With Firecrackers" is not included on the offical soundtrack.
I have purchased the soundtrack to HOLIDAY INN also but still enjoy listening to the tape I made so long ago. So if you don't mind songs with background noise and or dialouge from the film this cd should prove fun to listen to. People who have actually seen the film will probably enjoy it more than those who have not.
