A truely historic recording, November 29, 2000
The first among many Toquinho - Vinícius albums brings some of the greatest Vinícius songs through his new collaboration with guitarist and singer Toquinho. According to liner notes written by Vinícius himself, he became acquainted with Toquinho in Buenos Aries club called La Fusa, where the latter performed samba and bossa nova with female singer Maria Creuza. The encounter resulted with this beautiful and historic recording, full of great bossa nova standards like Jobim's A Felicidade, Lamento no Morro, Garota de Ipanema, Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar and Se Todos Fossem Iguais a Você, Baden Powell's Berimbao, Consolação and marvellous version of Samba em Preludio, as well as some less known but equally beautiful songs like Carlos Lyra's Minha Namorada, Caetano Veloso's Irene, Toqunho - Jorge Ben's Que Maravilha and Vinicíus' Tomara. Arrangements consist of Toquinho's guitar, bass and percussion and excellent vocal arrangements of three of lead performers Vinícius, Toquinho and Maria Creuza. This album is a must for any bossa nova collector, but at the same time a great introductory album for all those that are not yet initiated.

A suberb piece of music, a must for music lovers, January 4, 2005
A Kid's Review
A jewel from a time that has gone and will not return. How do we replace those brilliant musicians such as Vinicius, Joao Gilberto and A. C. Jobim? We can't, so a record like this is a must for all who love brazilian samba and bossa nova. Even the young Maria Creuza vocals shine through the tracks. I followed her further career with attention, but she never got even close to this performance, maturity seemed to sink her into a much more commercial mood of performing.
If you want a classic, follow my advice and buy tis CD.You won't regret.

lovely, September 13, 2005
This complilation of songs flows beautifully. I have been trying to find several of them in one CD especially "Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar" and "Samba Em Preludio". Lirics, voices and arrengements were carefully put together to bring us an amazing period of Brazilian music. Not being a critic in the matter I just think that this CD is as lovely as a fragant bouquet of flowers, warm and enriched with Maria Creuza's voice and Toquinho's guitar. I love it.
