I've always loved Christmas music. My favorite childhood memories include scenes from Christmas Eve pageants, caroling hayrides and the family gathered around the piano singing our favorite carols. Making my debut solo release a Christmas project seemed as natural as...well, dumping the fruitcake and keeping the tin. And inviting my children's choir to sing with me on the albumseemed equally as natural. After all, what would Christmas be without children?

I had a great time working with Michael Kingsley on these arrangements and orchestrations. I wanted the songs to sound warmly familiar, yet unique and provocative. I think we've succeeded in offering a variety of styles and sounds that will provide a perfect soundtrack for nestling by the fire.

Something quite magical happens in this season. When we resist falling prey to the commercial frenzy that surrounds Christmas and quietly reflect on the peace and light that were born on that first holy night, wounded hearts are healed, walls of separation come tumbling down and hope is restored. If one moment from one of these songs can facilitate that kind of rebirth in a listener, I'll consider this project a success. Merry Christmas and happy listening.
