Swedish singer Bosson was nominated for a "Best Original Song" Golden Globe Award for this album's lead-off cut and single "One in a Million." Its free-floating, lightweight pop perfectly reflects the lighthearted humor that underpins Sandra Bullock's film about an undercover FBI agent sent to infiltrate the Miss America pageant. Beats per minute are kept at a brisk, steady pace as even old-time showboater Tom Jones has his kitsch-classic "She's a Lady" remixed and hyper-energized by electronica artist BT. The Baha Men, who last let the dogs out, try for hit number two with "Get Yer Party On." A*Teens provide a smooth remake of Abba's "Dancing Queen," while Los Lobos update the Wilson Pickett R&B classic "Mustang Sally." Because Sandra Bullock is among my favortie actresses, and because Miss Congeniality is my favorite Bullock movie, it was the obvious next step to get the soundtrack. The CD has songs from the movie, including "One in a Million" and "Anywhere USA". I like most of the songs on this CD, and they are all "easy on the ears"- no swearing. I would recommend this CD to just about everyone- especially those people who liked the movie.

I bought the CD after I had seen the film twice so I knew pretty much what I was buying. It is one of the best soundtracks I have purchased all year (and I have purchased alot. I like nearly every song on it. The only songs I do not care for at all are the Groove Armada one and the Baha Men one. It is a popish-light album, so if that is what you are looking for than this is a great CD. I personally think the best song on the album is Miss United States because it cracks me up every time.

I have listened to this CD, and I found it true to the nature of the movie, unlike some other soundtracks available. I would highly recommend this if you found the movie entertaining.
