Product Description

Editorial Review
This high-quality collectible sculpture captures the moment in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone when Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback dragon hatches, much to Hagrid's delight. Hagrid, the Hogwarts gamekeeper, is seated next to his stove and table with books on dragon care nearby. Norbert, seated in Hagrid's lap, has green scales, red eyes, black wings, orange spikes down his back, and a protruding tongue. Because only 5,000 of the 8-inch, hand-painted, cold-cast resin sculptures will be made, each one comes with a numbered certificate of authenticity decorated with an official-looking gold owl sticker. --Marcie Bovetz

5.0 out of 5 stars A Breathtaking Recreation, June 1, 2001

Those of us who have read J. K. Rowling's wonderful books detailing the adventures of Harry Potter know that Hagrid plays an integral role in the story-line of the books. And, most of us remember the scene in which Harry, Ron, and Hermione discover Hagrid in his cabin with his newly hatched dragon, Norbert. This collectible statuette recreates that scene in beautiful detail. The coloration of this collectible item is breathtaking. For fans of the Harry Potter books, this is a must have addition to your collection of all things Harry Potter. I suspect that it will become a highly valuable collector's item in years to come.

I think that the 'Harry Potter Hagrid's New Arrival' statue is a beautiful piece that every Harry Potter fan should own. The amount of detail on it is extraordanarie. I think Harry Potter books are the best in the world so I think I will ask for one for my birthday

5.0 out of 5 stars larger than picture looks, November 18, 2001

I bought this at a warner bros. studio store over a year ago. I paid more than the asking price at amazon but it was worth it. I have listened to all 4 books on tape which I did get at amazon and like many others who know the books Hagrid is a great character. This statue has more detail than you can shake an umbrella at, and yes there is one also there as well as books, bowls, keys, logs and of corse norbert.. Very fine detale. I am sure the value of this as a collectable will only go up. So rember to keep the box it came in.

Beautiful rendering. I enjoyed the books, and this statue depicts the story before the movie was cast. I love this series. Read more
