The PV-V4621's four-head design delivers a dramatically crisp, clear picture to your television. Its pair of RCA audio jacks coupled with its hi-fi design offer enhanced audio output, making this a great VCR to connect to your home theater system.

In addition to its superb audio and video output, Panasonic includes VCR Plus+ Silver program guide, which lets you program most recordings simply by entering your ZIP code, taking much of the hassle out of the process. The PV-V4621's Movie and Commercial advance zips you past movie previews and commercials. Index search lets you quickly and precisely index and then search for your favorite recordings using discrete numeric codes, while program-end search takes you to the end of a program at the touch of a button.

The onscreen tape-position display shows you the tape's current position in the recording process. Other displays include multilingual onscreen displays that let you read programming guides and menus in English, Spanish, or French.

Panasonic's PV-V4621 also includes all those features you've come to expect with a VCR--pause, resume play, one-touch recording, auto stop, and more. An illuminated multibrand universal remote control is also included.

It is an excellent performer loaded with features that make it fun and easy to use.This model features front A/V input jacks and trilingual on-screen displays (in French, English and Spanish.) Auto Clock Set, also featured on every Panasonic VCR, uses the Extended Data Service signal from the user's local PBS channel to automatically set and update the time and date. In the event of a power outage, the time and date will automatically be reset within 24 hours. VCR Plus+ lets users program the VCR by entering the PlusCode numerical codes that are found in many newspapers' television listings, as well as in every edition of TV Guide.The PV-V4621 feature Rapid FF and Rewind. A high-performance mechanism will advance or rewind a 120-minute tape in approximately 1 minute, versus an average speed of approximately 2.5 minutes on a conventional VCR. Families who rent a lot of movies are sure to appreciate this convenience feature.

I purchased this VCR since my old one was also Panasonic and worked well over the years. The features of this new VCR are great. However, I am now on my second one after having returned the first. The first one made a great deal of noise from the motor and recorded video playback was grainy. The second unit is much more quiet during operation, but the viewing of recorded video is terrible. There is a very noticeable degradation of the picture upon playback and an "interference" type line wiggling along the bottom. Adjusting the tracking does not solve the problem. I have purchased new tapes, but that has not changed anything. This second unit is going back to the store tomorrow. After reading other reviews, I am wondering if Panasonic produced a bad "batch" of this model VCR. There seems to be too much disparity between reviews where some say the picture is excellent and others say it's terrible. I am still debating whether I will try a third unit of this same model and brand.

This VCR has many wonderful bells and whistles, like commercial advance, many indexing searches and great displays. BUT the recordings are terrible. I had to return this VCR. It is also noisy which you don't notice if it is in a glassed cabinet. the remote is easy to learn but the buttons are unbelievably tiny.

I love the features of this VCR, especialy the automatic commercial advance. The VCR marks the beginning and end of commercials and then automatically fast forwards through them on playback. A time-shifter's dream! I previously reviewed this as 3 stars because it was incompatible with my new Panasonic HDTV set. I found out that the TV was the problem, not the VCR. Now that I have hooked it up to my Sony XBR HDTV, I am very pleased with my purchase.
