Miss it, and Usagi'll slap you like she did with Mamoru!!^_^, August 9, 2001
A Kid's Review
(Don't worry, Usagi (Serena) won't slap you if you miss it. ^_^)I got both Sailor Moon S VHS's Labyrinth and Birthday Blues at the same time, and I just couldn't stop watching the two, but I mostly found myself watching Birthday Blues over and over and over and (you get the hint^_^). Birthday Blues was very enjoyable. Allready I was hooked on the S series the very first time I saw Pure Hearts, but when I saw Birthday Blues, I was dying to see what would happen next!!! Birthday Blues had very humorous and dramatic episodes. In "She Want's to Quit Being a Sailor Soldier? Minako's Concern", Minako (Mina in the US) misses her old life before becoming a Sailor Soldier, mainly Sailor V in England (Now presently Venus). She wants to quit and get back together with her old boyfriend from the volleyball team. But when her boyfriend is the next heart snatchers target, Sailor Venus must be able to win his pure heart crystal back in a game of volleyball unlike any she's ever played. In "Usagi in Tears! Glass Shoes for Her Birthday", "da da da! I have a special anouncement! Today's June 30th, it's my birthday! So let's party!" (-Usagi a.k.a. Serena). Well, if you didn't notice, it's Usagi's birthday, and Mamoru (Darien) has "forgotten"! (and as a result, Usagi slaps him in the face! Only uncut viewers can see this hillarious sceen!)"What! You slapped Darien, I know you were upset because you though he forgot your birthday, but Darien called earlier and said he never knew when your birthday was!" (-Rei a.k.a. Raye explaning what a mistake Usagi made). But come to find out, Usagi never even knew when Mamoru's birthday was either! "It's ummm, October 10th, no that's my mom's, ummmm, December 25th, no that's Christmas..... Well, I guess I don't know, I'm so bad! (-Usagi) But when the two make up it's oh so sweet. When they meet, Usagi finds out Mamoru has gotten her the glass shoes she wanted for her birthday so badly, but once she puts it on, a heart snatcher appears and is after Usagi's pure heart. This episode continues to the next one ("The Pure Heart Stolen! Usagi's Bigest Crisis") on the video, when her pure heart is stolen, and Kaorinite, Uranus, and Neptune are after it to see if it had any special powers. To everyone's surpirse, it wasn't. And also, another Sailor Moon appears! (Really Sailor Venus in disguised as Sailor Moon- toooooo funny! ^_^) The "new sailor moon" tries to trick Kaorinite into believing Usagi was a fake and saved her. The plan worked like a charm. Even Uranus and Neptune fell for it! After everyone is saved and put "back into place", the showdown with Kaorinite begins. That's as far as I'll go, or this review'll become a summary of it. ^_^ You'll have to find out what happens! All and all, I loved it. It was fully action-packed and every time I watch the first Birthday Blues episode, I must see the next! Cartoon Network did a pretty good job dubbing it, and I think it well deserves 5 stars!
